MacBook Air M1 2020 vs ThinkPad X1 Carbon refurbished — which would you pick?

Hey everyone, I'm looking to replace my old MacBook Air 2013 which can no longer receive macOS updates so it's basically becoming useless now. I use a Windows Dell laptop at work every day so I'm used to both worlds.

I've been going back and forth between picking up a refurbished MacBook Air M1 2020 or a refurbished ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Both seem solid but I honestly can't make up my mind. Just want something reliable for everyday use that'll last me a good few years.

Has anyone been in a similar situation where they use Windows at work and had to decide what to get for home? Did you go Mac or Windows and do you regret it or love it?

Also open to hearing if there's something better I haven't even considered in the refurbished market around the same price range. What would you guys actually go for?

Budget max 800 USD/ R13000. Obviously cheaper and good value would be preferred.

Do I add a stock?

Hey bitcoiners,

I'm experiencing decision fatigue.

I currently buy satoshis every month as well invest into a tech ETF every month into a TFSA as well. With what's going to in my country and the uncertainty about how our government (South africa) wants to regulate Bitcoin, I was wondering if adding an ETF or a stock in my taxable account is worth considering.

I get a bonus every year and don't know if I should add that to Bitcoin or invest in a global ETF or stock like asml, axon etc.

I'm considering this because the TFSA is capped at R500 000 for a lifetime then I can no longer invest in that hence why I'm considering growing something along side it so by that time I don't have to start all over again. My goal is to just buy and hold. Long term strategy

Hey everyone,

Long story short I'm 28 male living with mom and stepdad. I work 9-5 but not enough to move out. Stepdad getting sued by his brother for property and has been unemployed and at home for months. I had to draft a letter to respond to the high court and weve been talking about this for weeks. Out of the blue mom bursts into tears and starts shouting at me for not caring about what she's going through and not helping her and not looking like I care about what she's going through. She's been doing this since I was a child. I was literally just watching TV and he has to appear in court tomorrow mind you theyve been married since 2015 and I'm still close to my biological father was just just with him but I'm really getting annoyed by the fact that she always takes shots at me when she's stressed and depressed however I can not recall a single time of her being pissed off at step dad. Even unrelated to stepdad when shes annoyed she will search high and low to get it off on me. How do I get through this? I mean what does she want me to do cry for his situation or show some sort of compassion. I have my own work stress and we talk about the situation from time to time like there's nothing much I can do about his situtiaion
