Bruised nipple
My LO (3,5 months) currently has a cold. She is a very distracted little owl, who wants to see all that the world has to offer. So I’ve only been breastfeeding in the dark in the side lying position for the past month or so. So we’ve had a lot of practice to perfect this position, and it goes very smoothly. However, ever since she started being congested, she started drinking a bit more sloppily. Especially my right boob, which has a strong let down. She really started gumming on it. Everytime I correct her latch, she pulls herself back a little and starts knawing again quite quickly. During active feeding I can correct this a few times before she really starts getting distracted. But I also feed her to sleep, and the I cannot correct the latch or else there will be no sleep and endless crying. The bottom of my right nipple is currently very sore and purple. Any tips to promote healing of the bruise? Or is time the only remedy?
