We really hated our e-bikes. Help us find the jerks who stole them.
Hope you guys have fun with your crappy Velotric e-bikes, which randomly accelerate or decelerate for no reason. Enjoy the complete lack of available replacement parts. Enjoy the smooth and nimble ride, like riding shotgun with your drunk friend in their cement mixer truck. Enjoy the 100% AI customer service.
But damnit, we rode them a lot. They were OURS, not YOURS. Yes, we often joked about hoping someone would steal them so we could get better ones, but those were JOKES.
Here are the deets:
- May 19, 6:48am
- Two people apparently coming from a rave or clown convention stroll up on our porch and take two bikes and one charger and ride off
- Neighborhood is off Mason Farm, just south of campus
Kind of an odd time for two randos to be strolling around the neighborhood, in broad daylight, in hopes of finding something to steal. We think they knew what they were after.
A working theory: we occasionally get deliveries from Walmart (don't judge). They ALWAYS come early, before we wake up. A driver would have noticed the bikes. If that driver is a regular, they'd know we've never up that early, that our blinds are drawn.
The front door cam unfortunately didn't trigger as they were approaching, so these vids are all we got [ok apparently I can only upload one]. But surely someone recognizes clothes so ugly. Or maybe you'll spot someone riding a bright orange Velotric around town - it's the only one! Or maybe you'll spot someone on the grey one, which is heavy and now will not be electric b/c you need my fingerprint to turn it on (the orange one doesn't need this). Stupid jerks.
Let me know, please!
