Hey all
First time VGC player here and I just hit Master Ball a few days back using a pretty standard Mega Delphox team, however that's not important.
Last night I decided to try the VGC competition and faced 3 rain teams in a row, standard Pelipper Archaludon combo. Needless to say, I was quite frustrated. I decided to build the most anti-meta team I could think of, starting with how to deal with Beat Up + Archaludon.
This is it. I initially had Imprison Trick Room Farigiraf in the Volcarona slot, because this team was built with the idea of having something to deal with every meta team going around. However, I ended up playing a round where I could Tailwind, opponent TR, I Encore TR, then Taunt the Mon, into opponent forfeit. So I figured it wasn't needed and the extra slot really helped, since I only really have 4. The abilities are basically attempts at covering as many type effectiveness and resistance as I could find while still being fairly cohesive/effective.
Milotic is there to counter, you guessed it, meta Incineroar.
ANYWAY, I like Volcarona there but I was very strongly considering Mega Tyranitar to have some Rock coverage vs Mega Charizard sun teams, Aerodactyl, etc. I've swapped Stomping Tantrum on Garchop to Rock Slide, and if it feels like it's working well then I'll keep Volcarona, otherwise Mega Tyranitar it is.
However, as a new player, I am quite ignorant of how to efficiently spread my EVs. If anyone has ideas of how to improve the spread, what Pokémon/moves you'd suggest, pls do share them here!
To those of you who read the whole thing, thank you!
TLDR: Built turbo anti-meta team, doing incredibly well, not sure how to better adjust EVs.
EDIT: I also managed to OHKO Milotic using Leaf Blade Gallade, haven't seen it get OHKO any other way and I've seen many complaints wondering how to deal with it. So there you have it. Anti-meta, the team.
