He's a good ball player. I don't believe he was a real MVP candidate. Maybe it's the advanced stats, maybe it's the eye test, but I just can't buy him as a true #1 on a contending team.

On the other hand, I bring this up specifically because of how people talk about his intelligence like he's a member of MENSA or something. I mean his lecture he gave wasn't terrible, but also far from unusual for the average college student. He's spouted off some kyrie-esque nonsense in the past and I don't think he's an idiot but the constant praising of his intellect and how cerebral he is is absolutely lost on me. The "I use big words to sound smart piece" if you will.

Edit: He also constantly touts himself as "one of the best two way players in the league" and I've heard many people parrot this statement as fact even though he's an average on ball defender and a pretty bad off ball one (supported by his stats).
