Switching from UberEats to Uber. Located in Alberta, Canada. What am I getting into / what should I expect?
after 3 years of UberEats my 12 year old Honda CRV got old and broke down (timing chain) and my dad has decided UberEats is not a viable career path for me, even though I was pulling in about 532 on average per week. (He says due to garnered costs of depreciation insurance maintenance and others it’s overall not viable to continue) He has suggested that I get my class 4 so that he can help me buy a hybrid car and start doing uber taxi. I know there are many good things like a much larger cash flow, simple trips like to and from the airport and nice passengers who tip graciously, but there were many reasons that I was nervous/hesitant to do this job, such as robberies, cancelled trip scams, carjacking and drunk passengers vomiting in my car.
I just wanted to know from current drivers what I am getting into and wether or not it will be worth it for me to start. If it isn’t I have other career paths in mind, and I just wanted to know for sure before I committed to this. I am studying for my class 4 knowledge test but it’s always good to know from people in the field.
