Train seat reservations

Hi all,

On the 6th of June we are travelling from
Interlaken to Firenze with eurrail. We have seat reservations for those that were definitely required. We have tried to organise “seat reservations optional” for the leg from Interlaken to Bern and Bern to Zuerich HB and been told these are already sold out. I also tried to book the earlier train before this with the same issue.

Will this be a problem on the day? We are concerned we will be unable to board the train and miss our connection to Firenze. We are first time eurrail travellers.

We have emailed to confirm reservations are sold out.

Hello! Travelling to Switzerland 26th May - 6th June. We are landing in Zurich and then taking the train to Lucerne and then Interlaken where we will then use that as our home base and do day trips out to Oeschinensee, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Wengen and Grindelwald. We have an eurrail global pass as we are visiting other countries after this however have noted it does not seem very applicable within Switzerland. Should we also get a Swiss Half fair card, or just use the eurrail where applicable and pay full fair the rest? Just wondering what will be most affordable.
