I am struggling to find any nutrition that works after my bypass

I had a bypass of my duodenum, and I’m finding it really hard to get nutrition that my body will tolerate.

I log everything I eat and drink, plus sickness, toilet changes and sleep, and some clear patterns are showing up:

  • Fats seem to trigger bile and I end up vomiting.
  • Dairy makes me vomit too, I think because of the fat content.
  • Fortisip drinks are too high in carbs, sugar and dairy for me. I dump, then fall asleep for 2–3 hours afterwards.

So the things that are meant to help me get calories in are the things making me ill, and I can’t find anything that works.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? What did you find that you could actually keep down: drinks, foods, ways of eating, anything? And did your dietitian or team suggest alternatives that helped?

Thanks for reading. Any experiences would really help.
