Hi everyone, I’m desperately looking for input from people who’ve had similar situations or know more about this.
My husband (25) recently had two semen analyses and we’re spiraling trying to make sense of everything.
Results:
Test #1:
Count: 7.7 million/mL (low)
Motility: 0%
Vitality: 0%
WBC: <1 (normal)
Debris/round cells: small amount
Test #2 (about 2 weeks later):
Count: <2 million/mL (very low)
Total Motility: 0%
Morphology: <2.0 (very low)
WBC: ≥1 (elevated)
Debris/round cells: moderate amount
So things actually looked worse the second time, especially with inflammation markers.
Other testing:
Hormone Panel:
Total Testosterone: 878 (normal-high range)
Free Testosterone: normal
SHBG: normal
LH: 2.65 (normal)
FSH: 5.0 (normal)
Prolactin: 9.0 (normal)
TSH: 2.83 (normal)
Genetic testing normal (karyotype 46,XY + Y chromosome microdeletion negative)
Scrotal ultrasound normal (no varicocele, normal blood flow, no structural issues)
Only finding was a tiny 3mm epididymal cyst (doctor said not significant)
What we’ve been told / thinking:
Not hormonal
Not genetic (major causes ruled out)
Not structural
So it seems like either inflammation/infection, or a sperm production/quality issue
The WBC + debris increase between tests makes me think inflammation might be playing a role, but not sure if that alone can cause 0% motility/vitality.
Questions:
1 Has anyone had **0% motility (and/or vitality)** and seen it improve?
2 Did anyone have **WBCs or “round cells”** and find out it was infection vs just inflammation?
If you had something similar, what actually helped (antibiotics, supplements, time, etc.)?
And most importantly:
Were you ever able to conceive naturally or get into a better range? We are not considering IVI or IVF so.
