New landlord threatening me with eviction, my lease ends Aug 31

TLDR: New Company is threatening me with eviction if I do not given them a photocopy scan of my Drivers Licence and tenant insurance (which was not a lease requirement) and my personal contact information. They have not responded to my email either, despite the eviction threat.

I have been renting a condo unit from a landlord since July 2024. In May 2026 a new mega corporation bought out the whole building to turn it into a rental property only. With the assumption that my rent will be increasing I found a new place to live and will not be renewing as my current lease ends Aug 31, 2026.
On May 20,2026 every single tenant received a welcome package. The package was Q and A related issues for previous condo owners that are still living there and how to pay the upcoming rental payments to the new company. On the back of the package there was an information collection form that required my phone number, email, full legal name, a scanned copy of my drivers license, and proof of my tenancy insurance.
I read the package in full and decided that since i was not renewing i didn’t need to fill out the information as any and all information they would have needed from me to respect my current lease was given to them by my previous landlady.
On July 3, 2026 there was a rather hostile notice left on my door. In the notice there was claims of ‘multiple attempts to contact me’ regarding the collection of my needed information. Saying that if i do not comply they will have to take the necessary action. I unfortunately did not keep the notice or a copy of it by mistake as i went straight to the office to speak with the site worker.
I asked them to explain to me the multiple attempts to contact me as i have never received any further information other than their welcome package. I was then told i need to give them proof of my tenant insurance, which i do not have as it was not a requirement for the lease i am currently under (i am aware that tenancy insurance is a good thing to have however it wasn’t a requirement so i did not have any) I was told by the man in the office that if i do not give them a scanned copy of my ID and tenancy insurance with all my contact information they will evict me. I said. you can’t evict me, my lease ends August 31! and he just responded with Oh Yes we can!
So i sent them an email regarding our spoken conversation and they have not responded to me.
Can i just stall until my lease is up? Or should i comply? I know the eviction process can take a while, but im worried that their claim of multiple attempts to contact me since the welcome package in May that they may have started the process?
When should i send them a follow up email, if at all? I’ll attach the email i sent them in the comments as i cannot seem to on this post.
I apologize if this isn’t the correct format for this kind of thing i don’t really use reddit.
