Released my first Chrome extension (Fontara) — typography tester, built for my thesis

Hey 👋

First extension I've ever published. It's the practical part of my uni thesis and I'd love feedback from people who actually know this space.

Fontara lets you test fonts directly on any live website. Click the icon → panel injects into the page → click any element → swap fonts / weights / sizes / line-height / letter-spacing live. No reload, no mockup.

Tech stuff:

- 41 KB total

- No account, no login, no data collected (manifest v3, minimal permissions)

- 300+ Google Fonts loaded on demand

- Variable font axes supported

- Export to CSS / Tailwind / JSON

- Full keyboard nav, Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y undo-redo

- WCAG AA/AAA contrast checker

- 35+ curated font pairings

Works on localhost, staging, prod, ngrok...anywhere Chrome opens.

Questions I'd love help with: anything about manifest v3 best practices I might be missing? Onboarding flow improvements? UX patterns that worked for your extensions? And if you give it a try and like it, a review would mean the world for the thesis defense

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
