I absolutely love mertens water monitors but I don't have the space for an enclosure of that size until we move in a few years. I've been considering shinisaurus as well as a few other species (captive bred of course). In general I'm into all semi aquatic species as I would like to essentially make the bottom or portion of the bottom a fish tank. It would be a huge plus for the species to occasionally hunt in the water for supplemental feedings. What are your favorite semi-aquatic species, what are their space requirements and will they hunt in the water? Open to all suggestions!
