I’m currently on a journey to be more self-aware and observant of my surroundings. I’ve noticed that I’m always complimenting people on their hair. Particularly natural hairstyles braids, locs, twist, and Afros. I feel obliged to compliment and give props to good hairstyles because I know the amount of work it takes to maintain, yet alone, styling it. I come into contact with thousands of people a day and I see a lot of beautiful and unique styles. I also love seeing people express their individuality as well.
I work in a hospital in Chicago and my job often has me paired with another person. I see thousands of people a day and my colleagues see me complimenting others on their hair a lot. No one has said anything to make me wonder and the responses I get when complimenting others is always a thank you or appreciation nod.
I wonder if people find it weird/ off putting that i like complimenting hairstyles?
