Is it possible that humanity will end not due to nuclear warfare or climate catastrophe, but rather the cost of living skyrocketing too much for people to continue justify having children?

So with a whimper rather than a bang. It's a big reason why my GF and I plan to get ourselves sterilized.

Was I rude because I didn't care about the World Cup?

I never cared for anything about soccer at all I genuinely despise it. Yesterday my country was eliminated from the World Cup, and I said, "It's just a game," then I said “Sorry, I can’t feel sad with y’all I just don’t get it but I hope you guys can feel better” and one friend said, "You should respect the things that we are passionate and sad about just like we respect yours" and now he’s ignoring me, and I didn’t say anything else after that
This is dumb

(I want to clarify that I wouldn't say this about anything else, it's only w soccer)

If the room is pitch black (blackout curtains), does that mean that no UV/sunlight is coming in?

I installed 3 layers of blackout curtains from Amazon on my bedroom window, and I taped the edges down to prevent any sunlight from coming in. My room is pitch black when I turn off the lights. Does this mean that no sunlight/UV is coming in? I know that UV and visible light are different things so just needed to make sure.

I have a skin condition where I burn and blister after even minutes in the sun, and sunscreen doesn’t help much either. I can only go out at night.

Is it true that 96% of the videos of Hamas on TikTok support Hamas and is that why there are Protestors on college campuses promoting barbarism, torture, and murder of Hamas? And is China to blame for this?

I find vaping/smoking disgustingly unattractive, like borderline dealbreaker no matter what, am I overexaggerating it?

I can't feel if it's just me overthinking it, but even I struggle with wanting to be friends with people who take substances, not that I hate them, but I'd rather just stay completely away.

Yes, I did grow up with a father who did ALL sorts of stuff, although it was when I was young,m so I have very small recollection of it, or nearly little to none if this ends up playing into it.

What to do when you can’t do anything “fully”?

Lately I’ve been having this problem of, let’s say, being lazy and before I do something such as reading, playing a game or any task that requires me to invest some time in it- i just dont do it.
Mind you, I said lately. I don’t want to sound arrogant or anything but before everything I’ve started I finished, or at least I started it. Now I don’t even start doing stuff

What do I do about this, its been going on for a week or two and I just feel sluggish

PS: i dont even spend my time doomscrolling on tiktok or instagram reels (i dont have either) i just stare at the wall or listen to music or read a little bit of something here and there

Is it weird to like women who are 10 to 16 years older because women with nurturing skills treat me better?

Is it weird to like women who are 10 to 16 years older because women with nurturing skills treat me better?

My friend

She makes me homemade food

She bandages my wounds.

Hugs me twice a day.

Makes me a sandwich just because.

Watches over me when I'm drunk and driven me home multiple times.

You can see why finding another one of these women is hard.

She's 43 and I'm 27

I don't want to date if I'm not treated the same way. Otherwise it's just a complete regression.

Would anyone go to a witch themed cafe and bookstore/library?

I've been wanting to open a witch themed bookstore/library and cafe combo. It would have a few black cats wandering around as well for everyone to pet. I would also be selling homemade cat and dog treats. As for the bookstore and library combo, I want to let people both check out and be able to buy book, newspapers, and magazines. Before starting and investing in this business though, I want to know if I have a market for it.

Why don’t more people shop at Walmart?

I hear people throw out ridiculous stats for averages prices of things like milk, eggs, etc but prices at my local Walmart are usually much much lower than those stated prices. Is there something wrong with shopping at Walmart? I buy almost everything I need from here. Like yeah obviously you’re gonna think things are expensive if you exclusively shop at Whole Foods and think Walmart is for “the poors”.

Am I wrong for ignoring a woman who always doesn’t reciprocate my friendly advancements?

There’s this girl I always see at events in my city. Met her a couple times and have had conversations with her before but there always one issue.

Every-time I speak to her it’s almost like the conversations reset to zero. It’s like I’m a complete stranger to her at every event I go to. Plus she doesn’t even say hi or anything unless I have to go up to her and get her attention otherwise she can walk right infront of me and pass me like I don’t exist despite having convo with her in the past where she was engaged so it’s like she pretending to not know me.

Today was invited out by friends, and we got to an event that woman was there again. But then my friend recognises her and decided to go talk to her but I was just there he and my other friend were talking to her and her friend I was just in my phone.

After that we engage in 4 way convo but I don’t bother to pay her any mind there’s times we stand almost side by side but I pretend I don’t even know her. No look at her no hi no nothing unless if my friend talkin to her about something I just join in but I don’t make it direct convo to her. Am I being an asshole?

Tldr:Girl I see regularly at events acts like we’re strangers every time despite multiple conversations in the past. At the latest event I matched her energy and didn’t acknowledge her either unless it was through the group conversation. Was I being an asshole?

Why do we argue about small things when the big question is unanswerable?

Today I was sitting with my friends smoking a cigarette.

Two of them started arguing outta nowhere. Flat earth vs round earth.

Funny at first then it got kinda heated.

Both of them so sure of what they believe. but believing something and actually knowing it aint the same thing.

I just sat there and one thought kept looping in my head.

what the fuck is all of this.

your born into a body you didnt ask for. apparently the smartest species on the planet. body's flawed, life aint safe, you didnt pick your name, didnt pick where you were born, got brought here with zero permission and one day you just die.

and in between them two things your supposed to deal with heartbreak, bills, loss, war, sickness, being lonely, and if your lucky maybe a few good moments here and there.

you could end up with nothing. you could die tomorrow. nothing is guaranteed.

and yet here we are

arguing about the shape of a planet

like that doesnt even bother us

who are you

what are you

what even is consciousness

why does the universe exist at all

it doesnt owe us an answer btw

we know we're gonna die but we still plan out decades ahead

we fall in love, fight wars, make art, have kids, then just disappear

every emotion, agony, hope, joy, depression, all of it just chemicals doing their thing in the brain

most of what we do comes down to a few incentives. survival. pleasure. status. belonging. reproduction.

and somehow we argue for hours over stuff we'll never fully prove either way

maybe the earth is round. maybe thats not even the real question

what actually messes with my head is

why are we here at all

wtf is all this

Is it rude to say “no” to someone who wants to do other things after an outing?

So, I met this guy at a party two weeks ago and he invited me to go bowling with him. I said “sure” and that’s been the plan for a while. He texts me again and asked/suggested we go to the bar nearby to watch the World Cup.

I’m getting ready to go on vacation in a couple days and I still have a crap ton of stuff to do. And I don’t want to feel rushed with anything. So, I denied the World Cup watch party invite. But, we’re still going bowling.

Is that rude or normal to do? I feel bad, but I’m also on a time crunch. I texted him and he seemed okay with it, though.

What does 🫥💩 mean? This was commented on a Facebook Post Of Mine, Any Ideas?

I am an electronic music producer, and on one of my thank you posts for positive turnout for an event I played for the Independence Day weekend, somebody commented this sequence of emojis. What does it mean??

Do you know someone who you feel like would complain no matter the situation?

Meaning they are never satisfied and nothing is ever good enough for them to the point where it is draining, or they complain about this one day and then it gets handled, then they complain about something else, like the goalposts continue to be changed.
