And honestly?

I'm getting tired of and honestly. Every reply now has one. Is there something I can add to the instructions that stops this? Will saying stop being honest work? Srs tho.

Open door vs closed door

Is it possible to have open door but not be explicit? Like no dirty talk or using cock and pussy. I feel like maybe Cara Bastone's sex scenes are like that? That's still open door since sex on page but not explicit? Or is that considered closed door?

I just started this.

Is her entire personality being chaotic and embarrassing/embarrassed? Because my 2nd hand embarrassment is very bad and I can't handle it.

The part where they bump into each other, the author really drew out the scene that it made it seem like it lasted 20 minutes. And I was cringing the whole time.

Does it get better? I don't mind chaotic FMCs but she's chaotic and clumsy and bad luck? Like give me a break ....

I liked this. But the revenge plot in this book had me feeling like that conspiracy meme with the red strings on the wall because what the actual fuck was Tyler even doing. Or the Winona Ryder meme where she's looking confused AF.

The romance? Great. The chemistry? Great. The spice? Excellent. The audiobook narration? Incredible. Tyler and Stella had amazing tension and I fully understood why they wanted to rip each other’s clothes off every five minutes. The fake dating worked for me. The banter worked for me. Them constantly getting under each other’s skin while also wanting to fuck each other’s brains out worked for me.

What did NOT work for me was this man’s revenge plan.

So Tyler spends his whole life believing his rich father abandoned his mother and left them to suffer in poverty. His mom dies young after years of financial struggle and medical issues, so he grows up hating rich people and decides to dedicate his entire life to revenge.

Okay. Fair enough.

But then this man builds an underground gambling empire where he blackmails people, manipulates addicts, exploits desperate people, infiltrates rich social circles, and weaponizes service workers for information so he can eventually destroy his father’s life in some dramatic “watch your empire burn” moment.

Except we never even find out what the actual endgame was because the entire revenge plot collapses 70% through the book.

Why?

Because his father >!DIDN’T EVEN DO ANYTHING.!<

I am dead serious.

>!His mother disappeared before he could explain himself. He finalized his divorce, bought an engagement ring, came back to propose, and discovered she had already vanished. Then he spent YEARS trying to find her and his child.!<

Meanwhile Tyler is out here acting like the Riddler for twenty-five years because of a misunderstanding.

And I’m sorry but the more information the book revealed, the more insane Tyler started looking to me because what do you MEAN your anti-rich revenge plot mostly involves tormenting random people who had nothing to do with your trauma?

At one point this man is literally blackmailing “the help” for information about rich families and I had to put the book down because SIR??? Your mother suffered because of poverty and exploitation and your solution was to become Jigsaw for the catering staff???

Also the book keeps insisting Tyler is this hyper intelligent mastermind information broker but somehow he never figured out Stella was innocent in the accident scandal despite apparently researching this family for YEARS. So now I’m supposed to believe this criminal genius can orchestrate elaborate revenge schemes but was defeated by basic fact checking and seatbelt physics.

And honestly, I think this entire revenge plot exists because the book wanted enemies to lovers tension.

Because if you remove the convoluted daddy revenge conspiracy entirely, the story STILL WORKS. Tyler and Stella already had chemistry. The fake dating setup already worked. The attraction already worked. If Tyler had just been a morally gray rich-hating asshole running illegal gambling nights, I honestly think the story would have been stronger.

Instead the book kept adding reveals that accidentally undermined its own themes until I genuinely found myself defending the billionaire father in the middle of what was clearly trying to be an eat-the-rich romance.

Which is not where I expected to end up.

Anyway. Four stars. I had fun. The spice slapped. Everyone in this book desperately needed therapy and a background check. Kthnxbai

So my situationship and I were at a restaurant when someone hit his parked vehicle. Luckily, a witness saw the whole thing and left a note with his number.

I texted him to ask what he saw, and he actually came out of the restaurant to talk to us in person. Problem is… he was cute. Like unexpectedly cute.

The situationship and I are not exclusive, not official, and honestly not even particularly serious. But it still feels vaguely morally gray because technically I only have this guy’s number because of the accident situation.

WIBTA if I kept texting him? Could this be just an insane meet-cute delivered by fate and auto insurance? Help a girl out.

Maybe the FMC doesn't like it, declines it at first but then later on MMC BEGS her to let him do it. I want him desperate and begging.

I saw the list of MMC who loves giving oral but I think this is a different enough twist to it.

Thanks. 😍

I'm an hour in and Zanders is.... An asshole.

I think what did it for me was "pussy on the road" like sir? Excuse you?

Does he get better but not just better like does he change? I hate when the MMC disrespects women and meet the FMC and it's NLOG territory.

I really wanna get through this book though. Give me faith!!!!

ETA I have read The Right Move and Ryan Shay is my #1 book boyfriend :) I just wanna read the rest of the series.

How was it? Was there a limit? I need 2 light sticks and I'm scared it would be such a pain to get them there. But I don't have time to do the pick up since we're driving to the city on the same day of the concert.
