I am currently going through something absolutely devastating and I need support from anyone who has been through something similar.
My birth story:
After 3 hours of pushing my baby’s heart rate dropped dangerously. I had to choose between forceps or C-section in seconds. I chose forceps. This resulted in a 3rd degree tear.
My recovery:
• Referred to specialist at 1 week postpartum with ongoing symptoms
• Had second surgery at the same site on 15th April
• Stitches broke down just 9 days later
• Told wound would heal naturally — up to 3 months
• Prescribed antibiotics
• Took extra care of wound every single day
Tonight:
• New opening appeared
• Active bleeding started
• Wound has opened significantly
• Currently on my way to emergency room
I took extra care of this wound every single day. I did everything right. And it still happened.
Nobody warned me this could happen.
Nobody talks about what serious tear recovery really looks like.
Women are suffering alone in silence.
