Grenadine styling advice
Hello there! I’m 18 years old and passionate about classic menswear. Unfortunately, quality clothing is rarely kind to a university student’s budget, so my wardrobe is still rather modest: a green silk tie with purple dots, a navy suit from Seven Dials with matching cargo trousers, and a navy checked linen/cotton blazer.
My girlfriend and I are attending a formal ball soon, and the evening before there will be a pre-dinner gathering with a suit-and-tie dress code. She will be wearing a dark navy cocktail dress, and I would love to complement that elegance with a new suit and tie.
I came across this grenadine tie, and it completely captivated me! The only problem is that I have absolutely no idea how to do it justice.
My initial thought was a navy chalk-stripe suit with matching trousers, but I would love to hear the thoughts of those here with a more seasoned eye. So, as for my questions: What kind of (navy) suit works best with a grenadine tie, and what shirt combinations would you suggest?
