DNA matches question.

My Dad never knew who his Dad was so l don't have any names to work with when doing the family tree.

If l got paternal matches via the DNA procedure what would the positive relationships show as that may indicate that side of the tree ? Rather than coming from his mother's side, which l have names for.

Quite new to all this heritage tracking and the difference titles for relationships and distance ones are a bit confusing as a newbie.
