The cortex mini is maybe my favorite knife, but I have multiple, so letting this one go. I am the second owner, having just received it a couple of weeks ago. First owner bought it new from Brown. No cut or carry by either of us, just flicked it a bunch. Perfect action - these have the best of any in my collection. Perfect centering and good lock-up. No lock stick. So satisfying. It is LNIB with no imperfections that I can see. 27V blue body and 97V hardware and backspacer. Includes box, COA and sticker.

CRK Large Sebenza 31 Bog Oak Inlay with Lynch Flat Top Machined Clip - Second owner. Perfectly centered. Excellent hydraulic action. Drops shut onto thumb in a way most of my CRKs don’t. Has a small chip in the top of the show side scale where it was dropped the day I got it. Otherwise pristine and not used. It’s bigger than I like. Factory edge. Disassembled to remove lanyard. Installed Lynch flat top machine clip. SV $500 OBO

REC Exclusive Spyderco Native 5 Avocado with CTS-204p steel. No carry. Maybe opened a package at home 1-2 times, but virtually no cut. Factory edge. A bit stiff, but still flicks/reverse flicks open. Essentially like new. Never disassembled. SV $225 OBO

Spyderco K390 Delica with Suingab Ironwood Scales/red G10 backspacer ($180) and Lynch deep carry clip. Disassembled to put on new scales. Good action. Factory edge. Carried a few times. Opened some packages, but no heavy use. Had started to patina. A couple of tiny oxidation’s spots near spydie hole that should come off with a little flitz. SV $210 OBO SOLD

Spyderco Native 5 Salt (Magnacut), AWT Weathered Red scales and Lynch deep carry clip. Disassembled for new scales. Factory edge. Minimal cut, carry. There is some blade play when closed, but none when open. Had a hard time adjusting it with new scales to get rid of blade play while closed without making it too stiff. Someone more experienced than me probably would have no problem. SV $210 OBO

Final reduction. Someone please buy this knife! Because of my work schedule I need to ship it out this morning. This is $100 less than retail and it is LNIB. I am the second owner. First owner sent it to me BNIB last week. I took it out and realized it’s larger in-hand than I prefer. However, the action and centering are perfect. Took photos and back in the box it went. If it doesn’t sell at this price, I’m withdrawing it and keeping it. Would no longer be worth selling, especially after shipping and eating the cost of PPGS.

Started my journey with Spyderco (fave Sage), then moved to CRK (fave small Sebenza insingo). Since then I have acquired a number of really nice knives like Oz Rosie’s and Prince Proteans. However, I just got a Brown Cortex Mini and it is remarkable. The blade shape is both eye catching and functional. It’s scary sharp. The milling on the scales is impeccable. The action is the best of any knife I’ve ever handled.

At this point I can’t imagine a better folding knife (of this size class). I’m sure there’s some that are fancier or more expensive, but hard to imagine better. Is this just infatuation and another step along the way or is this a destination? Anyone have anything in a similar size (~3” blade) that they think is comparable/better?

I recently got a mini-split installed in my basement. I was checking out the unit with the installer and noticed this crack in the side of my house. Is this a big problem or something that I just need to fill in with some sort of caulk? Immediately call a professional or DIY? For context, the home was built in 1995.
