Lateral pelvic tilt is fixed but now my hip (side that was hiked up) is in pain

Little background. I had a pretty severe lateral pelvic tilt for years. It was probably due to a job where I was sitting and then hours of pc gaming in odd seated positions after work into the wee hours of the night.

Life is a lot different now. I’m very physically active and weigh almost 100 pounds less. I don’t know what it was that resolved my pelvic tilt but i recently started playing pickleball maybe 20 hours a week. I had the pelvic tilt a couple months ago just as severe as ever (it was very obvious one love handle was clearly 2 inches higher than the other) but I checked it last week and it was gone.

The reason I looked was because I was having some glute and outer hip pain and figured it was caused by the tilt (although it has never caused me pain that I am aware of yet, I’m sure it’s the culprit in a lot of pain/injuries). Much to my surprise, my hips looked completely even. I checked every way I could and they were clearly aligned. It was so bad that my wife was shocked when I pointed it out to her originally.

Anyways, a week after starting the hip/glute pain is still here. I’m wondering if it’s just my hip adjusting to handling being loaded differently. I searched but have not been able to find this specific scenario (pelvic tilt resolving itself seems to have caused new pain). The pain is caused by weird things like standing on either leg or sitting in certain positions. Playing sports doesn’t seem to make it any worse. I won’t notice pain until I move out of a position usually so it can be tricky to avoid.

Just looking to see if this is to be expected and what I can do to help with it (besides the obvious not doing things that make it hurt if I can avoid them.

TL;DR - pelvic tilt gone randomly. Outside hip/glute pain that happens when loading either hip or sitting in certain positions. Not clear it hurts until I move out of the painful position. Is that expected with resolved tilt? What do now?

Should DUPR should only consider win/loss?

Played some rec games that the person who organized was putting into DUPR. Decently wide range of rankings. I could tell in one game that one of the opponents was much worse than the other 3 of us. I played normal since we were winning and would clearly win but my partner asked me to target the girl who wasn't as good because we would lose ranking if we didn't win by enough.

Was my partner wrong for thinking and requesting this? I feel like we have a culture of optimization and a lot people will always try to optimize if they can. With something like DUPR, this seems predictable but also antisocial. I'm fine with trying hard but I really don't like targeting players (even though it's probably technically the best move based on the court state alone because they are not where they should be, often.

I personally wish DUPR would only consider wins and losses. What are you really proving by pickling a 3.0 as a 4.5? You're just proving you can go super hard when it's not required, which doesn't say anything about your actual skill. A win is a win.

TL;DR - DUPR ranking looks at the margin of victory which can create antisocial and toxic situations. Does it need to do this?

Six weeks of heavy pickleball cured my pelvic tilt

Been playing for six weeks. I’ve had a severe lateral pelvic tilt for as long as I can remember. Tried tons of exercises and stretches to fix it for months but it didn’t budge. After 6 weeks of PB, my hips have gone from one being 2-3 inches higher to being completely even.

Tossing this up here in case anyone happens to wanna check and see if it did the same for them. I play around 20 but no less than 15 hours a week

Pickleball drill partner

(Anyone can use this thread to discuss drill partners in the city)

Looking for someone to do Pickleball drills with. I play a lot at Olentangy parklands and am prob getting into 3.0 territory lately. I really enjoy the game and want to improve quickly as it just gets better longer the rallies get.

I want to find someone interested in drilling in the evenings or early mornings. Ideally 6am Tues/weds/friday/sat/sun at olentangy parklands (lights on at 5). If you can only do evenings, I’d be up for this too but courts are usually full so we’d have to sort out a location.

If anyone else if looking for something similar at a different skill level or time, feel free to toss your info into this thread.

Coach: "Timeout" Ref: "Players have to call timeouts"

Player: "Timeout"

Is this a new thing this year? If you trust a coach to coach a team, why can't they call timeouts? If the players are the alphas of the org, they can tell coaches not to call timeouts and go a different direction if the coach doesn't listen.

Minor thing. Just thrown off by some of the ref stuff sometimes. Might be my lack of Tennis knowledge. Is this how it works in Tennis? Not aware of Tennis "teams".

The MLP has way too many teams

(This is strictly from a fan perspective. I understand there is something to enjoy in all these games and the talent of these players is immense from the top to the bottom of the league)

Been enjoying the MLP but lately It feels like most matchups are a waste of time. Maybe the odd upset happens but you missed it anyways because it was a freak occurrence. I wanna see the top 5 teams play each other because they're the only teams that feel like they have a realistic shot to win the whole thing.

I love the idea of having a lot of teams but if there is no system to ensure a few teams don't just stack all the best players, MLP is not going to be that exciting most of the time. I think having 12 teams would make all the teams strong. I know that wouldn't be fun for players losing spots but ultimately, the MLP being a compelling and enjoyable league is a must.

Looking to drill in central Ohio

I've been playing for a month (20-25 hours a week) and am looking for people interested in drilling/playing in the early morning. I mostly play at Olentangy parklands for the lights (do other places have lights?).

Would be up for drilling at least a couple times a week with a player at a similar level (or higher if you're up for it). Just working on improving. I'm free Tues/Weds/Fri/Sat/Sun mornings. Feel free to use this thread to connect with other central ohio players as well.

(did search previous threads but no replies)

Pickleball court next to playground?

Odd request. Does anyone know of a pickleball court that is very close to a playground? I have a 7 and a 9 year old. The 9 year old wants to learn pickleball but the 7 year old has no interest. I wouldn’t want to be far from him while he plays.

Anyone know of a pickleball court right next to a playground?

Edit: Holy shit! Thanks all. Good to see there are a ton of options. Thanks for making the search easy.
