A Sleep Token essay project
I'm planning on writing my Capstone essay (music major) on Sleep Token and would like some help gathering examples! I want to cover a few topics: polyrhythms, sonata form, tone poem (use of non-musical sounds), religious/mythological connotation, and uses in education (such as ear training or atonal textures for students who don't prefer Bach or Mozart).
I have a good list started already, but would love for some external ideas! :) 💜 worship
Polyrhythms example: "Emergence" is in 4/4 but the syncopation feels in 7/8
Sonata form example: "Take Me Back to Eden" chorus returning in new keys, breakdown the recapitulation, etc.
Tone poem example: "Look to Windward" sword being drawn, police sirens; "Rain" the rain sounds
Religious/mythological connotation example: "Damocles" the story of Damocles in Greek mythology
Uses in education example: I'm stuck on this one lol
