Pre-Nursing Student Questions for UTA Accelerated Online BSN

Hey, everyone!

My questions about the UTA Accelerated Online BSN seem silly, but everything online is so vague. I've attended an information session and they couldn't/wouldn't answer my questions, either. and they want me to wait until the last week of August to speak with someone in Admissions.

  1. Do I need a Bachelors degree to apply to this program? Most of the online BSN programs require you to already have a degree and/or already be an RN.
  2. Are ALL of the pre reqs offered online? A&P II, Microbio, Nutrition, Pathophysiology, etc?
    1. If so, are they accelerated?
  3. Are the "Apply By 9/4/26" and "Start Class 9/28/26" dates for the pre-reqs or just for the nursing college students that have been accepted into the UTA nursing program?

Here's some context:

  • I am prepping to apply for nursing schools for Summer and/or Fall 27 cohorts. I have a 4-6 pre-reqs left to do and my TEAS/HESI. Classes that I still need are: A&P II, microbio, statistics, nutrition. Depending on the nursing college, I might also need pathophysiology, and 1 or 2 psych classes.
  • My personal circumstances have recently changed (getting a divorce after 21 years of marriage with 3 young kids, spouse is not an involved parent) and now I need to knock these last classes out online if at all possible.
  • I live out of district for my local community college now that my spouse and I have separated, thus wanting to look at online pre-nursing classes at a 4 year university. If I'm going to pay "out of district" tuition rates, then I might as well go to a 4 year university.

Thank you in advance for any help!
