Temporary Lockout on Live Futures Account

Is there any platform, broker or software that would allow you to be locked out for say 5 minutes after you lose $500 but still trade for the day until you hit a higher daily loss limit of say $1000?

I want to do this through Sierra but it seems it can be overridden.
If you know how to set it up so it works in Sierra that would be awesome.

Progression MNQ to 1 NQ with 20k account size

For those of you who graduated from MNQ to just 1 NQ , what affected your decision to make the switch ? Did you have to change your trading in any way once you switched to 1 NQ other than you lose the ability to scale in or out?

*Leave out commissions as a factor.*

Trading NY opening 930-945

Do you avoid this period ? If so, why?

Or do you see it as a great opportunity?

My biggest losses primarily have been from getting killed in this time period.

I wonder sometimes if I'm just not ready and should be awake a bit earlier or if I just suck at the open and it's not worth trading it.

I know some pros avoid this time but others do well in it.

Happy Adoption Day

I got this beautiful girl 4 years ago. Heidi was almost 3 years old then. She's quite a funny lady. I hope she will be my first to make it to 10 years old.

Daily Loss Limit- how much and why?

For those of you trading live accounts, I would hope your broker offers some type of risk management, a daily loss limit.

How much did you set yours to and how did you come to that decision? I just set mine at $4000. The option of % was available as well as liquidation if balance falls below X $ amount. I can change this anytime. I'm curious how others decide what's a good level.

When to quit for the day

I am curious how other experienced traders make the decision to quit for the day.

Currently, I trade futures and almost always trade 930am until 11 or 12pm.

My "goal" currently is to make around $1000 in this period and quit for the day.

More importantly, I have found through experience I am quite good at knowing when to quit for the day. If I am "certain" I should quit for the day and go against it, 90% of the time it ends badly.

That's why I think this is an interesting topic.

Scalping MNQ - Manual exit vs Set Targets

Has anyone here switched from manual exits to set targets of 15 25, and 50 pts for example when scalping MNQ ?

Did it increase your profitability and lower your stress?
