Is the Avata 2 Fly More Combo worth it just to get the Goggles 3 before moving to a custom FPV drone?
I'm New to FPV, and I know the Avata 2 isn't necessarily the best option for getting into serious FPV, but I still think it's a decent drone to explore the hobby and learn the basics.
My main reason for considering the Avata 2 Fly More Combo is actually the Goggles 3.
The combo with three batteries costs around $1,100, while the Goggles 3 alone cost around $800. For just $300 more, I get the Avata 2, three batteries, and everything else included in the combo. It seems like a much better deal than buying the goggles separately.
Eventually, I want to get a decent custom 5-inch FPV drone and bind it to the Goggles 3. I'd keep the Avata 2 as well, since I could still use it to explore the hobby and practice capturing cinematic footage indoors and outdoors.
So, rather than spending $800 on the goggles alone and then investing another $1,000 in a custom FPV drone, I'm thinking of getting the Avata 2 combo first, enjoying the benefits of both the drone and goggles, and building my FPV skills before moving on to a custom drone.
Does this sound like a sensible approach? Is getting the Avata 2 Fly More Combo a good way to get the Goggles 3 while also having a second drone for cinematic flying, or am I overlooking something?
