I'm new to Reddit and started learning in various reddits.

For some of them, I contributed to the discussion with some thoughts on the matter. While this took quite some time, I later found my comments had been deleted.

Is there any way to easily see how much Karma is needed to be allowed to participate in discussions?

It's just a waste to write something useful, only to find it deleted shortly after.
