OG Barry

I’m curious if OG Barry never had his mother killed or his father wrongfully imprisoned due to Thawne, how did he still wind up being the Flash or a hero? It’s kinda superhero 101 to be an orphan or at least have one of your parents die in a traumatic event

Flash recap

I just rewatched all 9 seasons of the Flash and I realized that the writers fucked up from the very beginning, even if the early seasons were great.
In the first 3 seasons, Barry wasn’t experienced or powerful enough, so a non-speedster would’ve realistically been a formidable opponent as a “big bad” at that point, yet they emptied the clip with speedsters. The writers were also too afraid of killing off characters for some reason, the only series regular who was killed off was Frost (+Caitlin) 8 seasons in, and then she winded up coming back as Khione lmao. HR doesn’t count because we kept getting different versions of Harry back anyways.

In the show, was Thawne’s mind corrupted by the speed force or was his mind already so corrupted to the point where he held a grudge over something as petty as Barry taking the spotlight away from him?

What is the point of Cecile’s character besides getting a headache every episode and then somehow finding out the villain’s evil plan just by “feeling” their feelings because the writers are too lazy to make Barry find out himself

I’ve been rewatching the show recently, and I’ve gotten to season 7. From the way people used to talk about Iris back then, and even the way I viewed the character at the time, I thought she’d be much more annoying on a rewatch, but she really isn’t. I don’t get the hate to be honest. Aside from stupid lines such as “we’re the flash” or the lightning rod thing, she’s a decent character. Nowhere near as bad as Felicity

Why in the world are Cisco and Caitlin mad at Barry for giving king shark the meta human cure “without permission” even tho it saved Cisco’s life lmao. It’s not even just king shark but every other meta criminal. Why would anyone need permission to stop a murderer from abusing their powers?! Needing permission for that would be like refusing to take away the money of a billionaire abusing their wealth just because no one gave you consent.

God awful writing

Why is Barry’s personality so different in the crossovers than it is in the regular Flash episodes? In the crossovers, Barry is constantly making jokes and isn’t taking everything so seriously, but in the regular episodes he’s the polar opposite of that. In fact, he got mad at Ralph for making too many jokes in season 4. In the comics, Barry is supposed to be like the former not the latter
