[LES] Why can't the Flash just provide evidence to clear his dad of the charges?

So he can't go back in time to prevent his mom's death. Ripple effects, cataclysmic destruction of the multiverse, blablabla, fine. I get it.

But why can't he go back in time, record evidence that his father is innocent, and return to the present to, well, present the new evidence to clear his dad of all the charges?

A seriously low effort sunday.

The original timeline

would be cool to see the original timeline, i mean everything in the show happens because of things in the future or the past being changed.

imagine the original timeline, barry doesn’t get his speed until 2020, wally’s not there, we see the invention of savitar, the real wells, barry goes missing in 2024 (or whatever the original date would have been) we see the actual invention of the reverse flash, barry having a kid without it time traveling ofc, barry with both parents, barry not growing up with joe, no cisco, no kaitlyn, the only thing that’d stay the same would be the other earths because the timeline isn’t effected there, and lastly the arrow would already be dead or atleast way past his start

it’s weird to think about but other than the same names literally nothing and no characters throughout the show would be the same. thawne is the spawn point of the show, which would make it super interesting to see the timeline where thawne doesn’t even exist until decades upon decades in the future

We need The Flash Season 10.

I feel like there was a still a lot that could’ve been done with the show if a Season 10 was added, especially with the original director/producer (Eric Wallace did this show dirty). Possibilities for Season 10 would’ve been the Speed Force being a villain, Anti-Monitor, etc. But, my favorite Season 10 plot would’ve been Thawne as the main villain, and digging deep into Thawne’s past (Barry saving his crowd, OG Timeline, Original Flash, Gideon Creation, Don and Dawn, etc.) and finding out more about Thawne, and fully erasing him from the current timeline (as Thawne is from the original timeline), forever, and ending it with Barry giving up his powers, sending his lightning to the sky, which does a full 360 moment, as his lightning gets thrown to the launch of the particle accelerator, and the lightning chooses Barry again, causing a whole full circle moment.

I almost started taking S5 seriously, until I saw this abomination of a suit.

Yeah, very surpisingly I didn't find that much to hate about S5 and personally think S7 is where it started to dip. But seriously, tf though an open chin was a good idea?

Stopped watching after Season 6 when Ralph Dibny was written off. Is it worth continuing?

I dropped The Flash right after Season 6 when they announced Hartley Sawyer was fired and Ralph Dibny was leaving the show. Ralph was honestly one of my favorite parts of the later seasons and when they put him in that ridiculous helmet/suit in the Season 7 premiere just to write him off, it felt like the final straw.

I’ve been thinking about picking it back up, but I’ve heard mixed things. Does the show get any better in Seasons 7, 8, or 9, or does the quality keep dipping? Are there any storylines or character arcs left that make it worth watching until the series finale?

“You aren’t the flash Barry, we are” I’m liking Iris west! First watch through (s4)

First time watching the flash and I’ve just graced upon season 4 and came upon this scene that I’ve seen almost everyone hate on. Why do people hate this scene?

Now I’ve heard so many bring this up about why they can’t stand iris but I just finished season 3 and it was a 10/10 for me aside from the ending. Barry continues to aggravate me because why did he go though all that trouble to save iris then immediately separates himself at the first opportunity because of his I need to be hero characteristic. I have to say iris gets too much hate for the faults of Barry. I was only annoyed with her during season 1 and 2 because o was tied of them not just getting together but now that they are I really liked iris so far. She really hasn’t given me a single reason to dislike her considering she is always the voice of reason for Barry and in fact she’s been smarter than Barry and she was so right when she came at him about him just up and leaving her like iris really puts up with a lot for someone who claims to love her so much yet is constantly willing to leave her just as fast.

And I know this scene really irked a lot of people but I actually loved this scene I didn’t really take it as her saying I’m the flash I think she was more just trying to tell Barry that he doesn’t have to do everything by himself and that’s she’s always gonna be there to support him and carry the weight with him and rather he should look at her as someone he can depend on because it is ultimately there love for each other that gets them out the hardest falls and predicaments. And I don’t know it made me like iris even more. I feel like Barry is really the one who needs to work on himself. Seriously.

I’m still in the beginning of season 4 (literally episode 5) SO NO SPOILERS BEYOND THIS and I really like iris so far. She hasn’t annoyed me like people have said but who knows I haven’t gotten to other season yet and I actually really like that she finally found a place in the team because before it felt like her only existence was to be attached to Barry’s side but now it seems she has a purpose and she’s been leading the team and has been doing a good job at it. And quite frankly she hasn’t been annoying at all this season in fact I’ve grown to really like her.

And I’d honestly say there was some truth it because there would be no flash without iris as shown in the future and based on Barry’s personality he cannot function without her he cannot think when she is danger, his living breath is for iris he tells I am so deeply in love with you that I truly believe she really is apart of him. The sound of iris voice can bring him from the brink of death, from out the speed force, from being schizophrenic like we are downplaying the hold she has on this man 😭

I also feel that Barry’s character seemed slightly different than the previous 3 seasons but I don’t know maybe it’s just because he’s getting married but I felt like there was a shift in his character personality and I don’t know if that was intentional or not.

Dumb question but why did Joe bring cigars to announce Cecile was pregnant?

If this has some sort of meaning then I sadly don’t know it because so far in my life nobody has yet to announce to me that they’re expecting

Hot Take: S1-S3 Iris had better chemistry with Barry than anybody else.

Keep in mind, I said S1-S3, the Iris starting from S4 to the end was absolutely terrible. But S1-S3 Iris and Barry had some serious chemistry, and the only other person I can see who could’ve possibly contended with that would’ve been Caitlin. I feel like Patty was GREAT, but they rushed the timeline with her and Barry, and just the fact of him not keeping her around, it wasn’t it. Linda and Barry were more of a relationship for benefits, other then the spicy pepper scene, never really seen anything between them. Felicity and Barry was also good, but that would’ve never happened, even though their chemistry was also great, the fact that they both had their eyes on someone else at the moment, and the distance, would’ve never worked.

Justifying Flashpoint

A common criticism for season 3 is that Flashpoint was too underwhelming, especially compared to comics or animated series. And it’s fair if you don’t like it, but I can’t say it was necessarily bad considering what they had to work with.

I mean the CW already has a limited amount of DC IPs. So they can’t do anything like the animated series with flashpoint where they explored Batman in Flashpoint, as well as every superhero suffering from the butterfly effect. Anything even REMOTELY similar would need to rely on other TV shows (Flashpoint versions of Arrow etc). But considering Arrow was still airing at the time of season 3, there’s gonna be obvious scheduling conflicts between the Arrow actors and Flash. And that’s one thing, but Flashpoint also needs the consequences to be relayed throughout the series, and so even if the scheduling headache is sorted out, from there season 3 will either be entirely Flarrow (which isn’t fair to anyone cause the Arrow already has a show and the Flash should be focused on) or making Flashpoint largely filler, which would also suck cause that means less time on the actual story and it will likely end up underdeveloped (as we see in later seasons).

So with the limited resources we could only explore the alternative lives of side characters, which we did. And although alternative Batmen, Arrrows, Legends, etc can stretch multiple episodes for an interesting story. I really don’t think the same can be said about less known hero’s like Vibe. So if they did make Flashpoint multiple episodes it also would have just overstayed its welcome.

So if they couldn’t do anything interesting with Flashpoint itself the next best thing is to make the consequences of Flashpoint the main focus of season 3, which I think they did really well. With alchemy and Savitar and etc.

Again I think it’s fair to like other iterations of Flashpoint better but I also don’t necessarily think saying this Flashpoint was “poorly handled” is really accurate either

Is barry rich?

i hadn’t even thought about this my first time watching the show but cisco, kaitlyn, and the rest of the people that worked with barry have all been able to comfortably live. barry and iris being able to live a little flashy with that type of apartment on a csi payroll.

so they must be getting paid, also not just regular taxes for regular payroll but he has to pay for a stadium like lab that is expensive for multi billion dollar agency’s (like the chiefs) to pay for. also considering (as someone from missouri myself) we get double taxed and business taxed like a mother fucker. then all the equipment, remolding in later seasons.

it’s not specifically said, but to pay for that building for that long, have that many people on payroll for that long, open the flash museum, the medical equipment and groundbreaking work with technology it would have costed barry millions dollars. possibly (more likely) hundreds of millions of dollars.

my guess would be when Harrison wells died it wasn’t shown in the show but he left his entire net worth to barry.

so barry could very well (especially right after receiving the money) been close if not past a billionaire. who just lived very VERY modestly

S1 Thawne’s plan makes no sense when you watch the whole series

So if you rewatch the whole night that barry’s mom died, in the end Barry and Eobard talk about how flash LET Eobard kill his mom because its a fixed point in time so they cant change it

So when you watch S1 his plan to go back is to send Barry back in time so that he could save his mom, therefore Thawne wouldn’t be stuck in the past, BUT considering that Thawne knows that he HAS to kill Nora Allen then why would he bother?

Not only that but before the end of S1 he has seen not only 1 but 2 versions of future Barry that both seem older and faster than the one he is training and the older Barry even tells him that he doesn’t go back in time

Did I miss something in his plan? He seems so calculated up until you realise that no?

How did Cicada even survive this?

In The Flash, Season 5 Episode 14, XS manages to have Cicada's Dagger throw used against him; she reverses time and pushes him into the own returning part of his blade, which means that it was at its most powerful: directly after leaving his hand.

Because Orlin is so tough, the dagger gets stuck in his chest without passing through him like it does with literal concrete, and he escapes seconds later. The problem here is that, while it is true that the Dagger was not powerful enough to pierce him from side to side, it is still a solid 5-7 inches inside his chest. This should have 100% collapsed one of his lungs, irreparably damaged his muscles, or caused him to die within minutes of being stabbed. Instead he just stands up, disappears for one episode, and returns in Season 5 Episode 16 as if nothing happened. Like, is he now just going around with TWO screwed up lungs?

Is there any lore explanation for why Orlin apparently doesn't give a damn about basic biology? Without medical attention and possibly immediate surgery, this should have killed him!
