You guys were not lying about season 7.

This is my first time watching this season. Stopped during season 5 in high school. This speed force Barry Iris love children gods thing is genuinely the stupidest thing I have ever seen. I’m pushing through this season with all my might and making this post to give me strength.

Already had suspended my disbelief that no one could recognize Barry in that suit, and then they really brought him up right after😂😂😂

I love this show lol

Why did the dagger disappear at this specific moment to free him?

If Team Flash destroyed the dagger in the past, why specifically would it disappear right at the moment before he was executed? They were acting like these two moments in time were happening simultaneously, which doesn’t make any sense.

I Love Cecile, and I think her empath powers were a great addition to the team, but did they ever explain how she got her powers???

I’m on season 5. They said she wasn’t really a meta human, but then she just was cause there was a scene where Cicada siphoned her powers away. They also said she was going to lose them after having the baby, and she just didn’t??

Rewatching. Made absolutely no fucking sense that Iris and Nora were mad at Barry for crashing out about Nora working with Thawne.

What is going on? Stabbed. His. Mother. In. The. Heart. in front of him. There should be absolutely no emotions here from Iris or Nora besides sympathy and remorse. I think this is genuinely a writing mistake. I hate that they were upset at him, and I hate that Barry had to apologize???? Fuck that and fuck this season.

EDIT: To the weird people in the comments calling Iris a "narcissistic bitch" over and over... I am not one of you, you're weird.

Rewatching for the first time since high school. Here are my thoughts so far.

Season 1: Incredible. Has so much heart. Incredible performances from the entire cast. I'm blown away by how fun and heartfelt this show is.

Season 2: Zoom!! I forgot how great this season was. Zoom killing those cops in the coffee shop was so insane. Still has so much heart and soul and Zoom is an even more menacing threat than Thawne. The way his speed and speed punches are animated with such a different brute power and cadence than Barry's, it feels like the VFX team really cared and did their absolute best creatively. Jay is a great villain. Absolutely loved how they handled the reveal and everything about this season honestly.

Season 3: A lot of fun, and uncovering the mystery of Savitar was more thrilling than I remember. However, you kind of have to turn your brain off and enjoy the show because there is some stuff that just does not make any sense lol.

Season 4: Barry coming out of the Speed force and everything else at the beginning, wow. However, I really began to grow tired of the DeVoe goose chase. It's just sooo long. It felt like at least 15 episodes of the gang trying some crazy plan, but oh surprise the Thinker was one step ahead. It became a bit exhausting.

Season 5: This is where I am right now, and guys. I'm starting to remember why I stopped watching this show. I am tired. It feels like they have been trying to catch Cicada for a century. Joe's absence this season really hurt the heart and soul of the show, but the main problem is they just aren't having any fun with it. Every previous season has so much fun with creative scenes and hype Flash moments. But there is absolutely no thought being put into any of the choreography with these Cicada fights. I'm not even sure I fully understand what his powers are. Compared to the other villains in seasons 1-4, he is wildly disappointing to watch and does not feel threatening. Cicada should have been wrapped up in a couple episodes, not 22. I'm tired.

As a viewer, we see a terrifying foe that almost killed our hero. We see a relationship grow between Allen the Alien and Omni-man. We see the coalition of planets working to find Onni-Man’s secret anti-viltrumite weapons hidden throughout the galaxy to fight a war against an approaching foe.

But what has Cecil seen? His entire protection system, Earth’s most powerful protection system, the OG Guardians of the Globe were wiped out in a single night by a Viltrumite who had infiltrated their world and befriended them. He then went on to slaughter thousands of innocents.

Then another army of Viltrumites appear, Variants of the Viltrumite son of the man who had betrayed you, and slaughter millions of people. Millions. Then another single Viltrumite shows up, slaughters countless others. Not to mention the other Viltrumites who showed up to Test Mark earlier.

The only thing Cecil knows about Viltrumites is that they have their sights set on Earth. No apparent weaknesses, a defense system of Earth that couldn’t even handle one single Viltrumite, and the assumption that Viltrumite forces are great in number and can clearly overpower and destroy Earth with little to no manpower. The damage Conquest did comparatively would be nothing compared to the apocalyptic and assuredly approaching Viltrum fleet.

The reason he left conquest alive was to see if there was an any possibility of getting information that could save them from their imminent extinction. Cecil is only moving here with the intention of saving as many lives as possible. He doesn’t know about the Scourge virus, he doesn’t even know that the Viltrumite who caused a 9/11 and threatened to enslave the planet suddenly decided to switch sides, again… Keeping Conquest alive, and trying to get as much information as possible, anything, that could possibly help their impending doom is an absolute necessity.

Did he have hubris in thinking that he could restrain Conquest with Earth technology? Absolutely, but what was the alternative? Kill Conquest and wait for more Viltrumites to arrive? What is the point of that?

If you take into account the knowledge that Cecil had at the time of Mark V Conquest, I don’t just believe that he made the right decision, I think that as the head of the defense of Earth he made the only logical decision. A decision that perfectly falls into the arc of his character.

What is the point of playing it safe by killing Conquest considering the entire timeline of events? Millions of Earthlings are dead by Viltrumite hands at this point. Millions more will die when inevitably more Viltrumites come. From his perspective, no one is coming to save them. There is absolutely nothing he can do to try to defend the Earth, except take a chance trying to get information from the one sent straight from the belly of the beast.

From Cecil’s perspective, killing Conquest would be an inaction that can only lead to Earth’s approaching extinction.

Cecil doesn't care if you think he crossed a line, he only cares about protecting the planet. Saving as many lives as possible. Keeping Conquest alive didn’t work, but when the only alternative is to sit around with meaningless defenses and wait for more death to approach, it’s the only call that makes any sense.
