How are you keeping travel costs down this year?

I’ve been putting off travelling with how bloody expensive everything’s gotten this year, but I’m seriously itching to get out of Aus for a bit and ended up booking a malaysian airlines flight on sale on a whim 😂

Ended up going down a bit of a rabbit hole looking for deals. Saw the 7% visa cashback on bookingcom and even the 2% cashback with youtrip, even though I don’t use either. I usually prefer booking direct with the hotel but at this point I’m looking at anything that’ll save a few bucks lol

Are you guys still travelling this year? Doing anything differently to keep the costs down?

Anyone changed travel cards because of ATM withdrawal limits?

I always just assumed Wise was the obvious choice because everyone seems to recommend it. Then I was watching one of Raymond La's best travel card videos and it got me looking into some of the other options.

I realised Wise only includes $400 of fee-free overseas ATM withdrawals a month, which is a fair bit lower than I thought.

I normally just pull out a decent amount of cash in one go when I'm overseas rather than making heaps of smaller withdrawals, especially in Japan or Vietnam where cash is still handy, so $400 doesn't seem like it'd go that far...

I looked up YouTrip afterwards and saw they include up to $1500 of overseas ATM withdrawals without their own withdrawal fee. It made me wonder if it's actually worth switching.

Has anyone here used both? Keen to know how they compare in real life, especially exchange rates, ATM withdrawals and whether there are any catches that aren't obvious. Or is Wise still the better all-round option?

Do IGL that play duelist work well?

I was watching NRG clips earlier and it got me thinking, seeing Ethan on duelist and knowing he's the IGL. Isn't it abit too much for the duelist to be the IGL too
