Unsure of astral projection or if it was a bad dream, posting before I forget anything

Hi everyone! I (20F) just had a pretty weird experience and thought of sharing to see if anyone else has ever experienced anything like this.

I am no stranger to sleep paralysis, so a couple minutes ago when I felt myself falling asleep I was trying my best not to because I got this feeling that I would get sometimes that kind of lets me know it’s coming(sleep paralysis). Sometimes I can stop myself from falling asleep and sometimes I can’t.

This was a one of those times that I couldn’t. I’ve had some pretty scary experiences before that I simply don’t talk about but this kind of freaked me out. So I decided about an hour ago to take a nap as I do have things I want to get done today and set an alarm since I’m pretty tired and don’t wanna lose a whole day to sleeping.

I got the feeling, tried to stop myself from falling asleep then failed in doing so, then I felt bad. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I felt faint, and also like my vision was going a little blurry in the dream somehow. I was trying my best not to panic but I thought something was wrong so I tried to get up. I sat up and realized it wasn’t actually my body. I don’t know how I knew I just knew that I wasn’t actually awake. I was too scared to turn back to look so I laid down again in the same position I was before hoping it wasn’t what I thought it was. When I thought it may have worked after trying to touch the wall in my room and nothing weird happened, I went downstairs to tell my mom, and told her something was wrong, now I think it’s a dream because she actually spoke to me or asked me what’s wrong(I can’t remember exactly but it she said something along the lines inquiring about what could be wrong).

It may be the dream but at first she seemed normal because she was trying something in the kitchen, but my first glance showed me that there was no counter in the kitchen and then when I went to look back to check it was suddenly there. I came upstairs where I saw myself laying down how I thought I was, another thing is I realize is that I was wearing something different but I was in the same position, another reason why I think it’s a dream. I lay back down in the same place and start PRAYING I actually wake up. Then when I did I was so relieved, then when I checked the time I was asleep for less than 10-15 minutes meanwhile it felt like it went on for sooo long.

I’m taking biology 3130 this summer for s2 and I’d like to know if anyone has notes from that course they wouldn’t mind sharing. I’m asking for the sake of being prepared for the course so notes, advice on how to study and the amount of information would be great. Im mostly asking cause it won’t be my only course and I don’t know anyone who has taken this who could help me out.
