How Much Would It Cost To Get Two Wisdom Teeth Removed If I Have YFS Health and Dental Plan ?

My top wisdom teeth are impacted and now hurting (I got the bottom two removed in high school) and I will probably have them removed within a few weeks/months. For those who got their wisdom teeth removed while being covered by YFS, how much did it end up costing ?

Anyone know when Reserved Spaces open up?

Going into my second year, and can't seem to get into gen-ed courses because they all are reserved for students in certain majors. I recall this happening last year too, however, they opened up at some point during the summer.

Does anyone know when course reservations are lifted for HUMA and SOSC? I heard next week, but I'm unsure.

Also, departments aren't responding to my emails :(

Why is everything reserved???

I know they need to reserve a bunch of classes for specific majors and 1st years....but this is excessive. I can't get like half of the classes I need and I've been reaching out to departments with no luck. Does anyone know when/if they'll be less restricted?

what's a class at York that completely changed how you think about your program

Not necessarily the easiest or the highest rated one on the review sites, more like the one that actually shifted something for you or made you second guess your major for a bit. Curious which course did that for people here and what it was about it.

Looking to start a small friend group!

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking to form a small, close-knit friend group here. I’m hoping to find 3 other people who are interested in building some genuine connections and hanging out consistently. Ages 18-25.

A little about me: I’m 20M and currently a student. I’m usually down for movies, walks, checking out new cafes, parks, playing badminton, or gaming. I’m also definitely looking forward to following the World Cup when it's on.

Feel free to send me a DM with a bit about yourself! Let’s see if we can get a solid group together.

Law clerk VS Bach of Paralegal Studies VS PLE Program in Winter

Hi there Reddit community, it's me again.
With more choices and paths to complicate your mind with as you give me your unsolicited opinion.
So as the title mentions, I've been accepted into Law clerk program at Seneca, Bach degree of Paralegal studies at humber and unfortunately waitlisted for Paralegal at Seneca. (PLE)

I want to work in law and build my way up to own a business OR attorney in the LONG run. I'm not in a rush and like a little taste of everything. I may or may not be jumping around in my career every 5-6 year or so. But at the moment I love law, justice, debating, organization, etc. I don't have generational wealth but I do have 5-6k from my family and 7k of my own from working 2 jobs.
My original plan was to study PLE and find a job asap then bridge my way to Political Science for Brock but it only offers 2nd year admission OR Paralegal studies degree and it offers the 3rd or 4th year I believe. However I have heard it's harder to find work as a paralegal in Ontario VS Law clerk since they are more in demand (? Do correct me if I'm wrong) I guess my goal is to make a lot of money for 5 years. In 2 years I'd like to move out, live my life in a sprinkle of luxury if possible, and have a cat! Anyway, hopefully you guys can give me something good to feed my indecisive brain. Thanks!

Should i stay in Computer Science??

this summer sem i dropped discrete math cuz i did terrible on my test, but for the past couple of weeks ive just been thinking if i really wanna do cs. i want a career where i can get a job pretty easily and make pretty good pay, and also for it to not be stressful, just simple "go in do ur work then go out" kind of job i geuss.

But i dont know if Cs is that?? My freind has been working his ass off for the past year in cs to find an internship and still couldnt get one and that kinda scares me. ive been hearing about how Cs is getting heavily inflated with a bunch of people, and that Ai might also negatively affect the demand for Cs students. What should i do?? should i stick with it?? is there any other paths that suit me better?

Are we all actually lazy and not interested in new experiences?

So I recently graduated and started working part time at a small organization that focused on education, more especially global education. They want to run a pilot project that essentially gets young Canadians to travel thru the working holiday visa. I myself applied to their program and that’s how I discovered the company itself. I personally think teaching English aboard -like France or Taiwan or travels to unpopular destinations (eg. They have Senegal /Sierra Lieone) is a great opportunity esp cuz I’m in my early 20s but my colleges and people I’ve shared this program with are not hopeful. They literally said —kids these days are lazy and want to stay in their comfort zones.

I genuinely think it’s just not a lot people know about these opportunities cuz I also did an exchange semester through York International and had the best time of my undergraduate.

Anyways all this to say I’m really curious to know 1. Are students/ grads not interested 2. If there are, what’s holding them back 3. Is there a specific target audience for this or it’s a lost cause

Lmk guys genuinely trying to figure out if this is something worth putting effort it or making a case for🫶

Opinions on Markham campus?

I'll be joining the Markham campus for first year eng classes, just wondering if there were any neat things about the campus, and if there's anything you love or wish you knew sooner? It looks really comforting and student friendly.

Giving up on university. I just want a comfortable, low-stress job in 1–2 years. What are my best options?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently in my first year of university for Computer Science, and I’m absolutely miserable. I just dropped my summer math class because my mental health was completely fried. Forcing myself through calculus, coding, and theory has made me realize that I completely hate math and programming. I don’t want a high-stress tech career, and honestly, I don't even want to finish a 4-year university degree anymore.

I just want a simple, chill life. I want a standard "work-to-live" job that has good work-life balance—something where I can clock in, do a routine job, get paid a stable salary, and completely forget about work the second I clock out at 5 PM. I want maximum time for myself to sleep, rest, and enjoy my actual life.

My parents are stressing me out about financial stability, so I can't just do nothing. I need a fast track. I want to find a path where I can get certified or trained and land a comfortable, secure job within the next year or two max.

Whether that means a quick college program, a short certification, a trade, or an entry-level route I haven't thought of, I'm open to it. It just needs to be low-stress, reliable, and have zero coding or advanced math.

Has anyone here walked away from the university grind to find a peaceful, stable job quickly? What are the best paths to look into if you just want comfort and stability without spending years in school?

Thanks for any help. --- sorry i have pretty bad english i used Ai to help translate this into english, as i wanted to write in a language i am comfortable in to express how i really feel!
