27 [F4M] India/anywhere - Looking for a real and genuine connection
Hi everyone!
I don't know if Reddit is where people find their person, but I figured I'd throw this little bottle into the ocean and see what happens. Trying my luck here for the first time, so here goes absolutely nothing. Or hopefully something.
I’m 27F and I’m here because I’d like to meet someone. I am not looking for a casual situationship, a “let’s see where it goes” that goes nowhere, or someone who disappears after 3 days of interesting conversation leaving me wondering where it went wrong.
So now about me, I used to be a proper extrovert. Then I grew older, gained some wisdom, and discovered the revolutionary concept that I don't actually have to talk to everyone. So now I am somewhere between introvert and extrovert. Basically, a moody ambivert who talks a lot or replies 'hmm' if not interested. There is no in between. I can be perfectly happy by myself, but put me around someone I’m comfortable with and whose vibe matches mine and suddenly I have stories, opinions, terrible jokes, random observations and absolutely no idea when to stop talking.
Apparently I have a good sense of humour. I believe this because people have told me so, but also because I regularly laugh at my own jokes, decisions, shenanigans and occasional disasters. So at the very least, you’ll never have to wonder whether I’m entertaining myself. I already am.
I am a huge reader and an even bigger book buyer. There is a significant difference between those two hobbies and my bank account knows it while crying at the corner.
I love movies and shows too. I used to be the person who would binge an entire season overnight and wake up looking like I had personally fought the final boss. But age has humbled me. Now I occasionally choose beauty sleep over finding out what happens in episode 7. I had a character development, apparently.
I write poems, stories and shayaris too. But mostly when I’m either in love or catastrophically heartbroken. So if I ever start writing something about you, congratulations or condolences. There is no third option.
I am not particularly into living my entire life online. I’d much rather actually live it. Like I read a book, watch a movie, go for a walk, cook something, have a long conversation, discover some weird little place, or sit somewhere peacefully doing absolutely nothing. I am pretty much content with being myself.
Now, what am I looking for?
A smart, nerdy guy with a high EQ.
Also, one important thing: I prefer someone older than me. 30+ only, please. That's simply the age range I find myself most comfortable and compatible with.
Basically someone kind. Emotionally intelligent. Curious. Someone who can communicate instead of expecting me to decode three-word replies like they're ancient Sanskrit.
Someone who can make me laugh, but also knows when to be serious. Someone I can talk nonsense with for two hours and then suddenly have a 2 AM conversation about life, love, death, philosophy, why humans are the way they are, or some completely unnecessary question that neither of us will ever resolve.
You don't have to be the loudest person in the room. You don't have to be conventionally perfect. You don't even have to have your entire life figured out. Just be genuine. Be someone who is comfortable being vulnerable, who knows how to listen, who has a life and interests of his own, and who still gets excited about discovering something new.
And please have a personality.
I don't need a six-pack. I need someone who can recommend me a book, argue passionately about a movie, tolerate my manga obsession, laugh at my nonsense.
Please don't just send me “hi” or “hey.”
Tell me about yourself. Tell me your favourite movie, the last book you loved, an anime you'll defend with your life, something you're currently obsessed with, or even just something in this post that made you think, “Oh, she's like me.”
Give me something I can actually respond to.
Because if we're potentially going to spend hours talking and getting to know each other, we might as well start with a little curiosity.
So if you made it this far, introduce yourself properly.
I’m a reader.
Give me a plot.
