Hello everybody, this is my first post in this subreddit. I've seen quite a bit of information regarding removing bathtubs, but have not come across any posts or videos where the tile in the enclosure doesn't get taken out. I was wondering if it's possible to cut Maybe 5 in above the tub flange all the way around and just remove that portion of tile and successfully waterproof the backing board again before reinstalling a tub and some sort of backsplash in that 5 in. Does anybody have any experience doing anything of the sort? Or does anybody have any reasons why this is not a good idea? Thanks for your time guys
