Reddit Question Title: Trying to build the “Garduino” smart garden — how should I approach it, and do I need to solder?

Hey everyone! I’m interested in building this Garduino smart garden project:

Garduino – the Smart Garden With Arduino

I’m fairly new to Arduino/electronics and want to actually build and understand the project, rather than just copy the instructions blindly.

A few questions:

  1. Is this project still a good starting point with modern Arduino boards/components?
  2. What parts of the project would require soldering?
  3. Can I build/test most of it first on a breadboard with jumper wires?
  4. If soldering is required, what exactly would I need to solder?
  5. Are there any components in the original project that you would replace with newer/easier alternatives?
  6. What would you recommend I build first so I can test each part individually before putting the whole smart garden together?

My goal is to learn Arduino, sensors, wiring, and eventually soldering through this project.

Thanks!

Important information

Blessings to you all, I want to use this opportunity to clear the air regarding some issues that have going on with me and some people who are seeking for a psychic reader in my DM as well some people who are new to psychic and spiritual enlightenment. This is in order to avoid being scammed or misdirected!!
I am psychic healer and a reader with 20years experience and I am also a witch( i dont know if I am allowed to say that here) but as most of you all know, Wiccan powers or witchcraft is not “Evil” because the moment I tell some people that I am witch they feel scared and usual say they can’t share their informations!
What I actually want to pass is an information that will help the new psychic members or those who are seeking for psychic readers. This is about those who will ask for a reading and won’t be willing to share their informations for the reading! I mean a psychic reading not a Tarot card reading!! and the moment you ask for their informations regarding the reading they accuse me as “a scammer”
There is no way you can get an accurate insight reading and most importantly “solutions”to your problems if you can’t trust a psychic with your informations.
Yes I know the socials is full of scammers and evil people but please be wise enough to the extent that you connect with the right psychic for probably a “private reading”
This is why you all get a reading sometimes through free reading or even paid ones but still no solutions offered or nothing changes!!
A psychic healer or reader is not mostly about giving a reading but also providing a life changing Solutions to your problems!
So sorry for the long note
Blessed be

It's Eggman Time!

When I was a little boy, I always looked up to cartoon characters, video game villains, and fictional inventors. Characters like Seto Kaiba Doctor Eggman, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, Rick Sanchez, and Iron Man fascinated me because they could build incredible machines, invent gadgets, and solve complex problems.

I've always wanted to be like Eggman in real life—not the world-conquering or destructive version from the games, but the brilliant engineer and inventor who can create robots, vehicles, and technology from scratch.

I'm a beginner who's interested in learning electronics, Arduino, robotics, programming, and engineering. Are there any beginner-friendly Arduino projects inspired by Eggman, Doofenshmirtz, Rick, Iron Man, or similar inventor characters? For example, simple robots, automated gadgets, sensors, remote-controlled devices, AI assistants, or other projects that would help me build the skills needed to eventually create more advanced inventions.

Also, how difficult is it to learn to read electronic schematics? Is it something a complete beginner can learn within a few weeks or months with consistent practice, or is it much more complicated than that?

Become a living EBOOK

Discussion:

In Eric K.'s ebook, it suggests closing your eyes to begin the process, but I'm feeling too exhausted to do that right now. I'm eager to summon my first demon, yet I struggle to focus my chakras and maintain concentration.

I'm wondering if there are any alternative approaches that might help. If I can't find a solution, I may need to consider hiring someone to assist me, possibly through communities here or on Facebook, though I'd like to avoid being scammed.

Has anyone dealt with similar difficulties with focus, meditation, or visualization? What helped you overcome them? Also, what are some warning signs that an online practitioner may not be trustworthy?

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

Why Is Trust So Hard When You Disagree With Your Parents?

Something I've been thinking about lately is that I don't always need my parents to agree with me. What I need is for them to trust me.

When I believe something and my parents think I'm wrong, the conversation often becomes about proving who's right. But that's not really what I'm looking for.

I understand they want to protect me. I understand they have more life experience than I do. But there comes a point where constantly being doubted feels less like protection and more like a lack of trust.

I don't need everyone to believe what I believe.

I don't need to win every argument.

What I need is for the people closest to me to trust that I've thought things through, done my research, and am capable of making some decisions for myself.

Sometimes being constantly second-guessed can make you feel unheard, even when your intentions are good.

Has anyone else dealt with this?

How do you handle situations where your parents don't trust your judgment, even when you're trying to act responsibly?

I'd like to hear other people's experiences.

Standing Up for a Belief When Nobody Believes You

Have you ever been in a situation where you believe something is true, but your parents, family, or everyone around you thinks you're wrong?

I'm struggling with that right now.

When people don't believe you, it's easy to feel frustrated, angry, or powerless. Sometimes you start questioning yourself, even when you've done your research and genuinely think you're right.

The hardest part is when the people who doubt you are the people whose support you want most. It can feel lonely.

For those who have gone through this:

How did you prove yourself when nobody believed you?

Did you eventually earn their trust, or did you have to move forward without their approval?

I'd appreciate hearing your experiences and advice.
