Should I open it or should I keep it sealed ? ….. my first pack

Hey everyone,
I’ve been checking out local toy and stationery shops in my area, but almost everything on the shelves turns out to be counterfeit bootlegs (fake tins, candy-wrapper crimped packs, etc.).
Has anyone here ever managed to find authentic older or rare Pokémon TCG products (like Sun & Moon era, older Sword & Shield, or Japanese high-class sets) sitting in old stock at local shops anywhere in India?
Or is the local market practically 100% fake unless you buy directly through verified online sellers / community trade groups?
Would love to hear if anyone has ever actually stumbled across a genuine "attic find" locally, or if it's a lost cause looking offline! Thanks!
