Online Grocery Shopping Recommendation
I'm a middle-aged physically disabled man and live with my severely physically disabled elderly mother, to take care of her. I also don't drive. For the past several years, I've used Peapod/Giant for online grocery shopping. It's worked really well the whole time, never had an issue except an occasional missing item but that was rare. Then a couple of months ago, Giant got rid of their warehouses, laid off the warehouse employees and the drivers, and shifted everything to Instacart.
It's been less than great. Prior to this I've had no experience with Instacart, but it's been made clear that they usually only handle small orders and are not prepared nor equipped to handle two weeks worth of groceries for multiple people. The first delivery from Instacart, the woman didn't have a cart or anything, and said that she had never had an order that large until that week when Giant shifted over. Then last week, the delivery person was rude and left our groceries out on the sidewalk. Just dropped them and left, wouldn't even bring them to our door.
Are there any decent alternatives for online grocery shopping in the Philadelphia area that don't rely on gig workers like Instacart or Doordash? If it matters, I live in the greater northeast.
