Little Half Moon + Full Moon Composite

This image is a composite of two separate stacks: one stack of a first-half Moon and one stack of a full Moon, which I darkened to match the unlit portion. I also adjusted the saturation slightly to make the subtle lunar colors more visible.

The data was captured about two months ago using my Canon EOS 750D and an SVBony SV555.

Final sharpening was done in RegiStax, with the rest of the processing completed in Photoshop.

The Moon - Mineral Colors

Equipment:

Lense: Sigma 150-600mm

Mount: iEXOS-100

Camera: Canon EOS 750D

Acquisition:

~500 frames for the Full Moon and ~500 frames for the Waxing Moon. ISO400 - 1/1000s And an starfield stack I took earlier as the background.

Processing:

Stacked in AutoStakkert!, sharpened in RegiStax, assembled in Photoshop. Color saturation was increased to reveal subtle mineral differences (titanium-rich regions appear blue, iron-rich regions appear brown/orange). Final HDR blending performed in Photoshop.
