Scammed or true mistake?

Is this a new scam or something? I placed a modest order. Total was like under $50. By the time my delivery got to me, I was charged over $200.

I ordered one of each item. All of a sudden they all say 4 count for EACH item. Including a miscellaneous item costing $48 with the description of “error”.

I messaged the shopper once I noticed the first item quantity changed and again when they all changed. He assured me it’s some sort of mistake. Then that’s when that misc item gets added. I’m like lowkey freaking out and thinking surely this will get resolved when it checks out/delivers. Nope. I was charged $216.

Immediately call instacart. Their flabbers are gasted and they have no idea what/how/why that happened.

Is this a new scam? I feel violated. This has never happened to me and is so odd. On top of that, instacart was not able to immediately refund me. They were so dumbfounded they had to get another department involved and I have to wait for an email on next steps in order to get my refund. They profusely apologized that it happened and said they’ve blocked that shopper from ever shopping my trips again. But getting charged over 4x the amount I was supposed to get charged is insane.

I was delivered my original order with the exception of an item missing and an item incorrect.
