What lesson do the adults teach in Bluey that you wish you had learned as a child?

Most of the adults on the show do a fairly good job of teaching lessons in their own way.

In Dance Mode, Bandit notices that Bingo is sad because she didn’t have a good day after everyone basically stole her ability to put her parents into dance mode.

Chili asks Bingo if she sometimes says yes when her inside voice says no. And Bingo confirms that yes, that’s what happens.

This is the third episode that I can recall in which the adults actually encourage Bingo to speak up. My parents were just the opposite, and as an adult, I still say yes when my inner voice says no, and that has been very problematic for me.

I can’t help but wonder what scenarios I might have avoided if my parents had been a safe space for me and had allowed me to say no, whether to them or to other people.

What’s your favorite running joke on the show?

I love the hidden non-spoken Chattermax story arc.

No one actually ever says that the parents are hiding Chattermax, or that they hate that toy…but through the detailed and addictive note worthy story telling weaved throughout the entire series…we all know that they hate Chattermax and hide that toy frequently.

What flaw is endearing but annoying in real life?

Bandit’s competitiveness is highly entertaining, especially in episodes like Obstacle Course, Squash and even Magic Claw (where he wanted to do Magic Claw better than Chili).

I like how it’s presented in the show, because it’s there but not over the top. Chili, Bluey and Bingo keep him in check though and although we haven’t seen it in action, his mom probably does too.

But in real life, highly competitive people can be frustrating to be around.

Have you noticed things like this in the show as well?

Does Bluey Make You Want To Have Kids…Or More Kids?

This question is inspired by comments in another thread.

I don’t have children and I enjoy being a second mom for the kids that are in my life. Not having kids of my own has allowed me to be more present for my friends and their kids.

I feel that Bluey helps me to be a better adult and friend for the families I love.

Describe one of your favorite episodes poorly

Just for fun, of course. ☺️

Hammerbarn: Four dogs go to a hardware store, break stuff, and make pizza after one pup complains that her sister’s watermelon slice is redder than hers.

Bandit and Chilli are re-parenting adults that grew up in abusive homes

I have watched Bluey every day since I was first introduced to the show a few months ago, and aside from it being fun, feel-good, and genuinely sweet — I can’t quite explain why I love it so much.

But today, I think I figured it out.

As I watched Daddy Drop Off, I realized that if I had tried to play any games with my dad while running late for school, I would have been screamed at, hit, called names, or subjected to other forms of abuse.

Had I put a leash on his foot, whispered “do you hear something?” to my sister while he made our lunches, or refused to tell him I forgot something at home just so he’d pretend to call me — he wouldn’t have played along. He would have gotten angry. He would have screamed at us and terrified us.

My dad didn’t really play with me and my siblings, and what he did call “playing” was actually cruelty and sarcasm.

This realization made me a little sad today — but it also made me feel proud of myself for surviving that childhood. I also realized that the way Bandit and Chili interact with their kids sends adults who survived abuse a sweet and gentle message, which is:

“It wasn’t your fault. You were just a kid. Your parents should have played with you. You deserved that. You deserved to be safe. This is what that would have looked like. That was their failing, not yours. You were a good kid.”

(Not sure why, but I can hear that in Chili’s voice.)

I bought a projector to replace the TV I lost in a sewage flood. Aurzen made a bad year even worse. (Long, but I need to vent)

I bought a projector to replace the TV I lost in a sewage flood. Aurzen made a bad year even worse.

On October 31, 2025 — yes, Halloween — I went downstairs to the scariest Halloween I’ve ever had.

My downstairs area had been flooded with smelly sewage water.  There were more than three inches throughout my living room, dining room and kitchen.

Long story short, this prompted an emergency move. Unfortunately, I had to facilitate it entirely on my own because I had no help from anyone. A ton of my belongings were either trashed because of the sewage water or left behind. I had to leave my beautiful 65 inch 4K television behind because I could not carry it myself. My roommate who decided to stay was thrilled with this decision. I was not.

I moved into a temporary place that was small, but it had a huge blank wall. I didn't want a small TV, so a projector seemed like the perfect solution. I did my homework and landed on the Aurzen BOOM 3.

And it was just as sleek as the reviews stated. The picture quality was beautiful, the auto keystone was amazing, and the Dolby surround sound was simply chef's kiss.

That is where the romance with this hell born projector ends. Because from there, things took a turn.

The remote stopped working within the first week or two. I figured it was the batteries so I replaced them. Five days later it stopped working again. Put new ones in and it still didn't work. Put the old ones back in and it sorta worked. From there on out, the remote only worked when it wanted to. You cannot rely on it to rewind, pause, turn up the volume, or even turn the unit off. And the power button on the actual unit started doing the same thing. It just randomly stopped responding, which meant the only way to shut it down was to physically unplug it from the wall.

I reached out to Aurzen support and they told me it was a known issue they were working on. Their suggestion was to unplug the unit when it wouldn't turn off. That was the extent of their technical support. Since the item was under warranty, I inquired about how to get this fixed and they said that they would get back to me on that. But they did not.

A few weeks later, I bought an Amazon Fire Stick for the projector because Aurzen advertised the BOOM 3 as compatible with it. Unfortunately, I could not get it to work. I contacted Amazon first and they told me to contact Aurzen, so i did. I contacted them through their website chat and the agent told me it should work. She gave me suggestions like reboot the system and return it to manufacturer default settings and try again. I hadd already done all of that  but none of that work. Her advice after that was to return the Fire Stick and get a Roku instead. I purchased that Fire Stick - when it was on sale - specifically because of their advertising.

Later, the image started deteriorating. I was watching an episode of X-Files one night and noticed these weird warped shadowy shapes emerging on the frame. They were light at first and I honestly thought maybe it was actually part of the show. But when it was over and I switched to Ghosts, those shadowy billows were still there. That is when I knew it was the projector. These shapes weren’t consistent. Sometimes they would show up after 30 minutes to an hour of use….and sometimes they didn’t.

On top of that, internal dirt and a spreading smudge started appearing on the bottom of the image. I contacted support againwith photos and they told me to remove the top cover and clean the inside myself. I told them the unit was completely sealed and the top would not come off. They told me to use a bit of force. I explained again that it is sealed shut and their next suggestion was to ask a friend or family member to help.

I was furious. Not only had I just facilitated an emergency solo move out of a sewage flooded home and left my television behind because I had no one to help me carry it, but now Aurzen's warranty support was telling me to ask a friend or family member to help open a sealed projector. I explained no one could help me and again asked for assistance with using the warranty to take care of the issue, but they insisted again that I needed to take off the top and clean the unit.

In May I sent photos showing a large dark gray curved line now cutting across the projected image. It had gotten significantly worse. I asked again about getting a replacement since I was still well within the 24 month warranty. They told me the BOOM 3 had been discontinued and they could not replace it. And since I had been using it for several months, they would offer me a 60% refund due to depreciation — on a product that started failing within weeks of purchase, that they already knew was defective when I first reported it, and that I had only owned for five months!!!

So if you want to get a projector, please save yourself the hassle and do NOT get one from Aurzen. And if you do get one from Aurzen, please purchase it through Amazon, and contact Aurzen regarding any problems through the Amazon messaging center.

Ultimately, it was Amazon that forced the full refund for me when Aurzen refused to honor their warranty. I probably would have been able to get a replacement item earlier had I messaged Aurzen through Amazon and not through their website. Oh well. Lesson learned.

What are some cultural references, traditions, songs, etc. in Bluey that people outside of Australia would miss?

For example, I’m American and I noticed a bottle of vegemite in the Heeler’s fridge. If my Aussie friend hadn’t introduced me to the stuff, I never would have noticed it in Bluey.

I’m always amazed at how well they handle social issues, change, and other real life topics so well.

I’d like to see an episode where an adult neighbor is sick or injured, but doesn’t have family or friends to help her.

I’d love to see how the Heeler family would help her out.

Another episode that could be fun is seeing Chilli so sleep deprived that she accidentally does some extremely loopy things, like put ice cream in the oven, park the car in the neighbors driveway, and calls the kids by the wrong names. And when Bandit tries to help her with anything, she insists she doesn’t need help.

Pretty sure most of us can relate to the last one.

Who do they go with and what do they do?

I was a lot like Bluey when I was a kid.

Loud, messy, imaginative, curious…

As an adult, I’m still that way. I’m just not as loud and as messy. I’m still imaginative and curious though.
