Need advice/Helo
I have 13 year old boy that has a rare chromosome deletion called 15.q.11.2. With that has included autism. He is high functioning, can do daily tasks on his on like using the bathroom, getting dressed, feeding himself. He is struggling so bad at school that he is testing at a kindergarten level. He currently has an IEP and is going to be moving schools next year to get more individualized help. He is very socially awkward and doesn’t seem to act the same when he is around other people like even changing his voice and walking a different way. He is very defiant and destructive. He doesn’t want to listen to anyone or follow any rules. I have tried everything under the sun to get his behavior under control but nothing works. At this point it is causing issues between me and my Fiancé. I feel lost and very overwhelmed. I am currently going back to school and will be finished this coming December. Until then I have to rely on him to help me but I can tell his frustrations are growing. Just for an example, today he broke a toy that had some form of slim and got it all over my car, his bike, the outdoor balls and every where in the bathroom. Any suggestions would be great on how to manage his behavior.
