Private Insurance or access to healthcare without employer insurance

Hello! T1D for 16 years, 33F. I am fortunate enough that I have a job that provides me with good insurance, so I am extremely thankful that is gives me the access needed for my diabetes care.

I do have a question that’s always wandering in my mind. What if I’d like to go explore other job options, but don’t offer insurance as a benefit? I know this sounds really stupid, but I’d like to know that there is an option to explore your passions in other careers knowing that there can be a backup plan for diabetes care. I often run into jobs that sound great, but they don’t have healthcare benefits.

Has anyone here accessed decent diabetes healthcare while working a job without insurance as a benefit? Whether it’s one full time job, multiple part time jobs, etc. What other options did you find to be able to access medical appts and diabetes supplies, whether it was thru private insurance or another program?

Thanks!
