"Kinocidal Sexual Violence" In their Extensive report, the Civil Commission had to invent new words to describe the systematic sexual violence committed by Hamas on October 7th which intentionally targeted familial bonds and family structures to maximize torture and humiliation.
Note I do not believe that this justifies war crimes or acts of terror Israel has committed. However, the downplaying and denialism that occurred even directly after this attack by lefty alternative media is astounding and shows a complete lack of moral clarity. This same type of minimization can also be seen in their treatment of Russian crimes against Ukraine.
This is the most exhaustive report on the use of gender based and sexual violence utilized in the October 7th attack in 2023. The report dubs a new term "Kinocide" to describe the unique types of torture, sexual violence, and terror that was utilized in this attack. Kinocide and more specifically Kinocidal sexual violence describes acts of violence and sexual violence that attack family structure and familial bonds. As documented in the report this includes things like
- Forcing family members to commit acts of sexual violence on each other
- Livestreaming acts of brutality and sending those photos or videos to other family members. This was done at times by using the victim's own device to record and by posting the videos on their own social media. It was often the first way family members learned that their loved ones had died.
- Committing acts of sexual violence, mutilation, torture, and desecration of corpses in front of other family members.
The report notes the pervasive denialism and minimization that has occurred internationally. It also repeatedly notes that the perpetrators often livestreamed and recorded their acts of sexual violence and brutality. It demonstrates that these acts were planned and coordinated as as a deliberate tactic to inflict fear and were not just single instances.
