What are the top performers ACTUALLY doing?

How are we all managing? Feeling drained?
When I joined Apple I knew that I would be amongst people who valued creativity, innovation, vision, and communication. I knew I was coming to develop competencies and collect proof to add to my resume ( I love metrics). I knew I could rely on Managers to do what Managers always do… stay in the clouds, regurgitate top-down corporate talking points, and… fail to answer my questions while redirecting me to a resource that won’t have the answer either. That’s all fine lol.

But the reality is… you don’t ACTUALLY care.

Moving up within Apple is not my priority and my goal was to enjoy my job, support my team, and make meaningful connections with like minded people. I’ve just hit my 3 months and MAN am I struggling. I leave every shift EXHAUSTED.

So I utilized my resources, I connected with team members from specialist to leaders and asked… what is your secret? What do you do to preserve your capacity? Everyone is drained.

So that leads me to question, if this system supports neurotypical thinking and they are falling behind… where does it leave me?

- Own your development, coach connection every month, we want to see that you are eager for feedback: I take notes, implement, study, reflect, adjust, and try again. And then it’s “ we expect you to request a coach bi-weekly” well why didn’t you JUST SAY THAT TO BEGIN WITH.

My plans will be to apply my feedback but then I’m zoned somewhere I can’t sell and we are always understaffed? My break is always late, a hand off is RARELY available? And I’ve been the most tenured employee for A FEW closing shifts. I haven’t clocked out on time in over 2 weeks.

“ You missed your goal, your % is lower than it should be the last 2 weeks “ LIKE FUCKING DUH.

Then it’s “ that’s not okay, we do not want that, you MUST take your breaks on time”… and leave my team mate to flounder with 2 FULL set up tables and no support? Don’t even get me started on leaders starting my break BEFORE I actually start my break.

So my question is.. how do I persist and remain engaged when the engagement is draining me?
Managers are around and always expecting more but when support is actually needed, there is no one?

Where is all this time to reflect, add notes to coach connections, check your email, study resources, perfect demos, support your team, while hitting every metric consistently? Does my whole life HAVE to be Apple?

We just completed 10 out of 12 NEW CORES, most having 5+ people. WHERE TF IS EVERYONE AT?

I do not expect Managers to be super invested in my life and interests but I’m so sick of the pretending and always being on.
