I have recently joined a game and the party is trying to rescue someone from prison; one of the group sent a spy animal down to search the cells (he could see through the eyes of the critter). The group was trying to confirm the ID of someone in cell to be sure he was the one they wanted to rescue.

The GM spent a Fear and ruled that it was impossible to confirm the ID on the person with total certainty. When the player tried to innovate around this the GM said that his spending the Fear made this impossible.

One of the players complained that this has turning into a common occurrence and the GM laughed it off.

Circle of the Void: Mark a Stress to create a void that extends up to Far range. No magic can be cast inside the void, and creatures within the void are immune to magic damage. (p.133 Core Rules, consumables, item#40)

This seems to be a potent item; how often is being used and has anyone had any problems with it?

I have some new magic items in my list and did some edits on the old ones.
