Supplements for a 6 yo boy

I’ve been hearing about having the following essentials to ensure that a kid with add is successful:

  1. diet, exercise, sleep
  2. supplements (magnesium, zinc, iron, omega 3s)

My child takes the target brand multivitamins which already has zinc and iron so I don’t think I need to add more aside from giving him actual foods that are rich in these. I’m thinking of buying Nordic children’s dha for the omega 3s. He doesn’t have any issues sleeping nor is he hyper. It’s more of day dreaming and focus issues. Do I still have to get the magnesium supplement which I know helps with sleep. I want to also add pumpkin seeds to his yogurt. Did you guys find that supplementation works? I also would like to ask his ped about doing a blood test on his ferritin to see if it’s still low. In 2024, he was 4, the dr ordered a ferritin serum test bec of other medical issues at the time and he got 16. Research says they have to have at least 50 to help with dopamine formation. Maybe doing the ferritin test will let me know where he is at as we are only monitoring for add at the moment. This new school year will also give me an idea if he has add or if it’s simply a boy and immaturity issue. Any insights will help. Please and thanks

Reading and writing struggles

How are y’all kiddos doing with their reading? Are they able to read fast while comprehending what they read? My kiddo can read but he always just wants to be done right away whenever I ask him to read or he will pick the littlest book to read. I also don’t know how fast he should be reading. How about with writing? Is it common to be fatigued when writing at 6? My kiddo would get tired right away when it comes to writing and would give up easily. The teacher constantly encouraging him to keep going was a common occurrence specially in the beginning but he’s improving each day. I’m getting worried for 2nd grade so we are going to practice a lot with reading and writing over the summer. What is your experience
like with your kids? Any tips?
