I had blood drawn yesterday for Guardant Shield colorectal cancer screen. Shield is FDA approved for colorectal screen, but not yet for the other 9 cancers they claim to detect. Guardant's web site claims that Community Care coverage was approved last year for colorectal screen. However, I was notified today that VA Community Care will reject a claim and I will be billed $1500 out of pocket if my sample is tested. Does anyone have VA reference for approval, or experience specific to Shield test and Community Care?
