feeling numb

today my moms dog ran out into the street and got hit by a car. I was the one to walk up to him cause she couldn’t. he was almost cut in half, the tire mark was across his mid section. his organs and guts were all over the road. his eyes were open and his tongue was out. he was an 11 month yorkie. since it’s happened I cannot stop visualizing his organs on the ground or his face. I couldn’t pick him up, I was scared and my mom wouldn’t come up to us. I was standing next to him in the right lane on a busy 40mph road. I yelled at my mom to come, didn’t have my phone on me. the neighbor of the house I was in front of came out to tell me he’d stand on the road for me until we figured it out. so kind of him. not even sure if I thanked him. I feel so numb
