Notion AI Connector admin install fails silently — here's the fix (Google Workspace)
If you're trying to enable the Notion AI connector for Gmail or Google Drive and your "Admin install" button is grayed out or showing a warning about admin privileges, the cause is almost always that the Marketplace page opened on the wrong Google account.
What happens: When you click "Start connection" in Notion, it opens a Google Workspace Marketplace tab. If you have multiple Google accounts in Chrome, that tab opens on your default account (/u/0/), which is probably your personal Gmail — not your Google Workspace admin account. Personal Gmail accounts can't install Workspace Marketplace apps, so Install appears disabled.
The fix: Look at the URL in the address bar. It will look like this:
workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/notion_ai_for_gmail/787955812784
or:
workspace.google.com/u/0/marketplace/app/notion_ai_for_gmail/787955812784
Change it to your admin account by adding or changing the u/N/ segment. If your admin account is the second account in Chrome, that's u/1/:
workspace.google.com/u/1/marketplace/app/notion_ai_for_gmail/787955812784
The "Admin install" button will now be active. Click it, click Continue in the dialog, confirm the install, then go back to Notion and click "Confirm connection."
