AI to generate Spanish example sentences - overkill or nah?

AI to generate Spanish example sentences - overkill or nah?

Hey everyone, I’ve posted here before about a small tool for Spanish verb conjugation practice verbos.app. Thanks for the feedback - I’ve already added a couple of things people asked for: selecting specific “persons” to train (so you can focus only on vosotros, for example) and verb translations into your native language.

Now I’m thinking about adding an AI sentence generator for each verb + tense + person. So instead of just “hablar - yo hablo”, you’d also see a real sentence like “Hablo con mi amigo todas las mañanas antes del trabajo”, and it would be different every time instead of the same memorized example.

Question is: is this actually useful or just a waste of time? Would love honest feedback.

I noticed I was learning Spanish verbs in a very inefficient way, so I built a small practice tool

When I look at how I’ve been trying to learn Spanish, verb conjugation always stood out as something that needed a lot of repetition, not explanation.

But most tools I used didn’t really focus on that. They either turned it into structured lessons or added too many extra layers.

So I built something very stripped down - just rapid practice of conjugations where you see a verb, tense, and subject, and immediately try to produce the form.

It’s basically just active recall in a loop.

Nothing fancy, but it made practice feel more direct and less distracted.

Still early, just sharing in case it’s useful or if anyone has feedback on how they approach this part of language learning.

What do you hate about Spanish verb conjugation apps? I built a simple alternative

I got tired of overloaded Spanish learning apps, so I built a very simple conjugation trainer

I’ve been learning Spanish for a while, and one thing I always struggled with was verb conjugation.

Most apps I tried felt too slow or overloaded with lessons, gamification, streaks, ads, and a million buttons.

I basically wanted something extremely simple:

You see:

  • a verb
  • a tense
  • a person

Example:
Ser / Indefinido / Ellos

And then you either:

  • type the answer manually
  • or answer quickly in quiz mode

That’s it.

So I built a small app/site for myself focused almost entirely on rapid repetition and memorization.

Main things I focused on:

  • very fast practice flow
  • choose only the tenses you want
  • typing mode + quiz mode
  • hints/examples if needed
  • works offline after loading
  • no signup required

Still improving it gradually and trying to understand what people actually want from this kind of tool.

Curious:
what do you personally hate most about existing conjugation apps/tools?
