Found in an old costume house
From my research this is a prominent and collectible French label by the designer Douillet who made gowns in the 1910’s-20’s. It’s a wool dress but it is so confusing and sewn so poorly in certain areas that it makes me wonder if this label was just torn out of a different gown. The dress its self is old, with lots of ornate work. But at some point the costume house added some ugly fabric and who knows what else. I took that off and this is what I’m left with. Any information would be appreciated.
